I put a deposit on my cake before I put a deposit on the venue! This is as close as I can find to it, but it will be 3 layers and have a more filigree pattern along the sides. Layers:
Top:Lemon cake with super tart lemon cream (my sis and I are lemon lovers),
Middle: Chocotate cake with rum, rasperries and chocolate truffle cream
Bottom: Vanilla cake with fresh cream and strawberries

I'm on CW's computer right now (ah, getting to see eachother this weekend should have been blissful but he has to pay court fines now ... so I'm goofing around on the computer while he takes care of bills and such) so I can't post pictures - but seriously - check out the site!

how about doing these instead of cupcake towers!! how tres chic is that?! borrowed from sweet and saucy's blog.. i may actually have to borrow this idea and completely diy these, i mean this gal is on a budget!!

We actually just got the sketch for our wedding cake design the other day! The sketch isn't as "sexy" as all these actual cake photos that you ladies have posted (which are making me really hungry, by the way), but it does a good job of showing the design that we want. The wrought iron element at the bottom is taken from a Paper Source rubber stamp that we'll be using on our programs, place cards, etc...

@amanda: Another bee posted that on another cake thread, and I swear the second I saw it I was like "that's my cake!" I hadn't even thought about cakes yet! And with everything else, it's SOOOOO hard for me to make a decision on what I want. Funny that the cake happened so easily!
My colors are blk, red and whi so I want a black and white cake with red accents, but I can't decide between topsy turvy, round and square. Below are some inspirations I'm having. As far as flavors, I have no idea, but he wants chocolate chip. I told him he can have that in HIS cake!
I thought about doing this cake topper lol

My FI is a Swiss Patissier so he is making our cake and it is a surprise!! It doesn't get better than that right?!! we are having birds as a small re-occuring theme, I saw these cakes and thought they were really cute!! Although I know my FI's creation will be even more amazing than anything I could imagine, I thought I would share anyway.
Also a lot of these cakes look amazing but with thick icing and all prob don't taste incredible, so the Crispie and brownie cakes are a great idea!

@doozi: I love the comical cake topper where the bride falls into the cake and the groom is reaching in for her. I can't find it anywhere, though. Any suggestions?

This is the cake we originally ordered but after tasting the desserts our venue provided we decided to cancel the cake and we are not having just a top tier for us to cut!
