I LOVE this idea, I'd really like to see others' transformations...I was rushed when I decided on my gown so I didn't get a picture of me in it, but we're going to make a payment tomorrow and I'm going to see if they will let me put her on! She's going to have to have a few alterations done to make her "perfect for me"!
there will be many changes to my dress, and i am photographing each change, so when its finished i can post it here
I've got some! I went in and purchased this dress as a sample:
Had the sides taken in and a crude bustle pinned on for my first fitting:
and then here she is on my wedding day!

I was so happy!

Did you go on a journey with your dress? How much does it still resemble the dress that you brought home from the store? I just had my second fitting last weekend, and things are really taking shape. It made me wonder though, how many other brides buys a dress because they love its 'bones' and change it to make it their own. Here are some before and 'middle' pictures (still have one more fitting to go).
Original dress, gorgeous, but I wasn't happy with the neckline, wanted a more fitted shape, train was waaay too long for my taste, and since I found a steal off the rack it is all over just not a good fit.
At first fitting, train pinned to length it will be cut to; before any other changes:
At 2nd fitting, neckline changed, taken in, train shortened (no pics of train down...DUH...but LOVE the new length) pinned into bustle (still need to finish shaping the bust, and will add hooks to lay down the zipper flat...toying with the idea of deepening the V in the back also, whats another $100 bucks in alterations at this point).
