The sweet wife of my major professor/graduate advisor gave me an antique frame holding a beautifully cross-stitched sampler that has vegetables as the border surrounding the words “YOURS in the world and everything in it”. She handed it to me, unwrapped because she couldn’t wait to give it to me, and said, “This reminded me of you. Now feed the world!” It meant soo much!
What have you received that’s become a favorite gift?

how sweet! my bridal shower is this weekend, so I’ll be able to answer sunday night! but I love the personalized gifts. granted, I’ll also be psyched for dyson & keurig or kitchenaid, but I think personalized, thoughtful gifts are just the best. 🙂

My Father-In-Law gave us some 1 oz silver coins which i thought was a really neat gift. “our first investment” if you will – i’ve been checking the price of silver everyday.
but my peronsal favorite though – and i know this is cliche but i seriously cant get enough. my kitchen aid 🙂

I think some of our favorite gifts have been the totally unexpected ones! Two women from the church I grew up in made me a really really beautiful quilt in our wedding colors using the pattern “courthouse steps” (how cute is that?!), my husband’s father hand made us a bench for our home, and one of my best friends/groomsman gave us a doorknocker that has our new last name on it, and says “Est. 2011” lol. Love it!! Doesn’t look quite as nice edited… but I’m anti-stalker. Sorry.

What great gifts! I love the silver coins, and the homemae quilt, and the doorknocker (with the “established” part!)
My favorite has been huge, homemade ceramic mugs: his and hers (his a little bigger) because the giver known we love making soups or eating ice cream out of mugs!
