So im on call all night at work tonight…..So no bed for me! so im re-doing my cook books! FI and I are changing our eating habbits for good…..We have a little under 15 months till our wedding day….so we are doing a whole lifestyle change instead of a pre-wedding shred….I dont want to gain it all back post wedding…..so I figure if we do a flat out lifestyle change then itll be easier to keep it off versus yo-yo dieting….
So Im sitting here going through my cookbooks….and i realized i hardly have any healthy suppers, most of what i have is desert and special occasion recipies…..and i am retiring a few that i no longer eat….(alot of my recipies with nuts in it, our whole family is since my sister has developed a very sever anaphyactic allergy to nuts and were not sure which)…..
SO Bees! what are your favorite healthy recipies???? Im talking breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and deserts!! or even if you dont have 100% healthy recipies you want to share thats fine by me! I just need new recipies! (for what its worth, we really dont have a health food store in our town….but i can get healthy foods)

I love chicken fajitas but instead but instead of the high salt seasoning I marinate the chicken in corona (yes the beer!), cayenne spice, Paprika also works and some lemon juice, for an hour or so, or I prepare it all in the morning and let it marinate all day. Then cut up peppers, onions and mushrooms. I stir fry them separate from the chicken because FI doesn’t like many veggies.
I will use whole wheat or home made tortilla shells for dinner and lettuce wraps for lunch with left overs.

Firstly, i think you are very sensible. longterm weight loss is so much better and will only come from a lifestyle change. I am talking from experience as someone who was 60 pounds heavier but has managed to keep it off since 2006 when I started my journey. I am now also studying to be come a nutritionist so hope Ican help with a few of my favourites;
panfried sea-bass fillets with crushed new potatoes or nothing added mash (salt and pepper the fish, a little bit of vegetable oil in a hot pan and fry until golden) all you need is a little bit of lemon juice to finish off and it’s delish! My SO did not like fish at all until I cooked him this and now it’s one of his favourites.
Grilled chicken with grilled vegetables – I marinate the chicken fillet (no skin) in some olive oil, season all spice mix, dried sage and basil and then pop it in A George Forman style grill. Ichop up peppers, squash, red onion, slightly cooked baby stem broccoli or even asparagus (what ever you like really) add one tea spoon of olive oil, some sea salt and mix it so that some are on all the veg and then grill too. Add a bit of sea salt, dried sage and basil and serve with the chicken. I have this every day door lunch at the moment as part of my “2 months to the wedding” routine and not Bly is it healthy and helping me shed fat, it is super tasty and doing wonders to my skin and energy levels too.
Snack – this is weird one but ricecakes with spreadable goats cheese and/or avocado is yummy! Even better is adding a little bit of lemon pepper. It’s a good way to get some of those good essential fats in to your diet as well and avocado again is amazing for your skin and hair. I also have almonds in my desk drawer and snack on those during the day (be careful though, about 10 or so a day is enough).
i also have a receipt for home made taco spice mix which is lush and we use this for fajitas as well.
if you want any more ideas feel free to PM me.
