What is your favorite meal to make? Maybe it's your favorite because you love it. Or maybe it's because it's quick, easy and yummy. For whatever reason I'd love to hear it :)

Well, I'll start. I love making chicken parm for my hubby because:

    1. it's his favorite and it makes him oh so happy
    2. it's super easy
    3. it's mega yum!

I found this recipe online and I'm going to try and make it tomorrow. It sounds so yummy (if you like fish) and easy!

I make a pasta dish that we LOVE and it's pretty healthy (I think)...whole wheat pasta with spinach, cheery tomatos and sometimes grilled chicken with a pesto sauce (out of the envelope).

This recipe for Chipotle Glazed Roast Chicken with Adobo Sauce has recently become a big favorite in our house! It's healthy, filling, the glaze is somehow spicy and sweet at the same time, and it has sweet potatoes - my favorite! All of the ingredients are pretty much pantry staples, and once you've bought one container of chipotle chiles in adobo sauce you can freeze the unused chiles - one little container was enough for me to make the recipe about 4 times.

Share your chicken parmesean recipe please!  We eat tacos a lot because they are easy.  We just use the Taco Bell seasoning packet.

I love making my tilapia and spinach. Well that is what I call it. He just likes to call it the fish dinner.  I do not usually cook fish and so that is what he says.  He loves it and so do I.

Yay! Thanks for all of the replies! You've all given me lots of yummy ideas. I was feeling lazy and had no idea what to make tonight so we just grilled up some hamburgers. boooring. Now I have lots of new ideas :)

For those that asked this is my chicken parm recipe (you can adjust all of the ingredient amounts to your needs/liking it wont hurt the taste)

4 chicken breasts (make sure they're not too thick. If they are I recommend cutting them in half)
    1 egg, beaten
    3/4 cup italian bread crumbs
1 (10oz) jar prego pasta sauce (I use traditional)
    1 cup grated mozzarella cheese

Dip chicken in egg and then the bread crumbs until coated with bread crumbs. Place in a greased 9X13 pan. Bake chicken for 30mins. Pour sauce over chicken and continue to bake for 10mins. Top with cheese and continue to bake until the cheese is melted (about 3 mins)

I serve it with wheat pasta and a veggie.

    Bar-b-que chicken

Black Eyed peas grown from my parents garden

hocakes (cornbread made on top of the stove in an iron skillet)

    tatertot casserole

I like making this because hocakes are my favorite type of cornbread, the peas because they're just yummy, the tatertot casserole because it's one of my fiance's favorite dishes I make, and the bbq chicken because I LOVE chicken.

I actually have a roasted chicken that's VERY similar to the "engagement chicken" that people have posted about on here. The only changes I make are I add more spices and put wedges of lemon and orange inside the cavity of the bird, then use the juices and baste it with that. It's SO good. I started making it before I even started dating my SO so maybe that's why I haven't gotten the "engagement chicken" to work ;)

Anything Italian wins in our house too, especially lasagna. It's a pretty big deal haha. I make a arribiatta sauce that's really delicious. We put it over tortellini and sometimes we put pieces of chicken but usually only if we have leftovers from something else. The sauce is really simple but sooo good (but sooo bad for you haha). Equal parts marinara and whipping cream (that's the bad part, as if you needed me to tell you!), then I don't really use measurements, just to taste. A few shakes of ground red pepper, some salt and pepper, a about 2 tbsp of sugar (more or less if you like sweet or don't), then I cook a strip or two of bacon...well...I cook more than that but a strip or two is all you need for the sauce. Also about a quarter of an onion, I cook them together, just until the onion is sauteed and the bacon is cooked but not crispy. Chop the bacon up, put it in the saucepan with everything else and just let it sit on low and stir it often, it easily burns! I know this seems like I'm telling you a lot but it honestly is easy! Just cook some frozen tortellini and pour the sauce over it. If there are only two of you just use 1/2 or 1 cup of the cream/marinara each. Just eyeball it :) I'll stop rambling now...

@wifeywife: Well you know...in Kansas we like to use cream, trust me! Cream, buttermilk and cheese are far too common in my dishes :) I wasn't planning on putting in a recipe but it's hard to explain without writing it out! Let me know if you try it. If I don't have everything like the onion and bacon I've gone as far as just shaking some dried minced onion in and some REAL bacon bits--you have to let it sit longer to get those flavors in but it does work. Also if you sprinkle some shredded parmesan on top it's yumm-o! :)

My favorite meal to make it tacos. Chicken or beef it doesn’t matter. They are quick and simple, and always have tons of flavor. FI and I have different taste in food, so this meal gives us the option of eating the same meal but having different toppings or taco shells.

I like to make mega-servings of soups so I can freeze the leftovers. I make servings for 12!

    Tomato, Spinach, Tortellini soup

    Chicken Chili

    Broccoli, spinach, potato soup

    Plus we love to grill!

@wifeywife - I just noticed that the recipe says to use 1 cup of marinara sauce, but I remember it being 1 jar when I first printed out the recipe.  One cup definitely isn't enough...you need a whole jar (assuming you make a whole box of orzo with the recipe, which I always do)

pasta with bell peppers. it's my man'ss fave and i love it too and it's healthy (i eat 2/3 veg and 1/3 pasta...he switches the ratio.

    1 red bell pepper, chopped

    1 yellow bell pepper, chopped

    1 yellow onion, chopped

3-6 cloves garlic (to taste), chopped

1/2 cup chopped spinach (if u like it)

    1/4 olive oil

    1 pound pasta, al dente

fresh basil if you have it

splash of white cooking wine or lemon juice (maybe 1/4 cup...whatever you like)

start by warming pan with oil, add chopped onion and garlic, cook until temder.

turn up heat so it's really sizzlin and add the wine or lemon juice

    add other veggies and pasta

reduce heat and simmer 5-10 minutes

this recipe is so versatile. i also love to add asparagus to it! and i usually have leftovers for lunch the next day!

Mexican chilaquiles, strips of fried corn tortillas simmered in salsa, and served with cheese, eggs, or beans.

not the healthiest but def GOOD!

    1. Boil tomatoes and chiles until soft.
    2. Mix(puree) them in blender with the garlic and water.
    3. Heat 1 tbsp of oil and fry this paste, lower the heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Season to taste with salt.
    4. Cut the tortillas in strips with a pair of kitchen scissors. ( I cut them like you would cut pizza slices)
    5. Heat oil and fry the tortilla strips until crispy.
    6. Place on a serving bowl, pour the sauce over them and sprinkle with onion and cheese.
    7. Serve immediately. Enjoy with a side of refried beans or eggs.
