We decided that instead of having a traditional sit-down style rehearsal dinner that we would do something FUN because our wedding will be fancy and pretty formal. Since we are not inviting OOT guests to our rehearsal dinner (that would be over 70% of our wedding!!) it will be pretty small (immediate family, dates and bridal party). We wanted something intimate, but also something where people could get to know eachother and have a great time!
So we are going to a local Family Fun Center! They have Go-kart racing, lasertag, bumper boats, arcades, etc and they cater! Is anyone else doing something non-traditional?

if we can fit it into our budget we will be having a cartoonist come and do a caricature for each of our guests at the rehearsal..that maybe a fun idea for you as well

I don’t know how non-traditional this is, but we had a lot of out-of-town guests, so we invitied everyone to the rehearsal dinner. We had it at my parents house, which had a beautiful outdoor-patio with a pool. We set up tables and chairs all of the house and had it catered by Olive Garden. It was super fun getting to have everyone celebrate with us two times!

FI seriously wants it superhero themed, I’m still not sure how I feel about it. But if I do give into him, it will be at someone’s house lol

We are doing the traditional dinner, but either the night before or that afternoon, we’re thinking of having our whole bridal party do this thing we have here in town called the Bend Cycle Pub. You get to ride around town in this large trolly looking thing you pedal and get to drink beer. it should be a good way for the bridal party to all bond. 🙂

We’re actually getting married at our rehearsal dinner!
My brother got ordained online years ago, and all along we’d planned to have him perform our wedding ceremony. A few months ago we found out it wouldn’t be legally binding. We figured that the most important people will be at the rehearsal dinner, so we’re having a JOP perform it then. I thought that was way better than going to the courthouse on some random Tuesday! (We’re still having my brother perform the ceremony at the actual wedding.)

@Crindy: I’m curious why it wouldn’t have been legally binding? My fiance’s brother is going to officiate our wedding.

@Crindy: I am interested to know this too because my bother is also marrying us. I thought that as long as he is recognized as a minister or priest as ordaned then it was considered legally binding.

We’re just doing a laid back RD at my house. We’ll focus on the food and mingling (my family getting to know fi’s family).
