I don’t have any stories but it seems to me that’s the kind of thing they should have disclosed to you!!

I’m a full time professional nanny as well. The worst family I have worked for was my last family that I recently quit. I would work 40 hour weeks but they would only try to pay me for 20 hours which is just ridiculous. They would insist I work when the entire family was ill with the flu which I absolutely refuse to do. So many things that I can’t really reveal because it’s too personal on their end. But let’s just say, it was the worst I’ve experienced.

Luckily I have found a new family that is fantastic. Regardless, I do love my job and I make a very, very good living and the benefits I receive are great so I can’t complain much.

I don’t think people understand that being a nanny (not a babysitter) is actually a very demanding job when done correctly.

Lol, I can’t be the only one who thinks it’s ridiculous to streak in someone else’s house.  wtf, I would have let you go too.  I was a full time nanny for two years, and i wouldn’t dare do that.  And all that chocolate cake, haha.  why would someone tell you if they installed a nanny cam?  It’s to catch stuff that you think you’d want to hide.

As as for me, I did walk into the mom and dad having a full on argument.  I always let myself in in the mornings, and they were in the middle of something.  They apologized later.  It happens to everyone, and I love the family to death still.  Girl was my flower girl!

This isn’t really a horror story at all, but it IS an annoying nanny story that still gets me after all this time.

I have a cousin who is a few years younger than I am, and he had this nanny for about three years when he was 9~12. My cousin used to majorly overeat and had some weight problems, so the nanny was told to feed him healthy food in normal portions while she was watching him. I was spending the week at my cousin’s house when he was 12 and I was 15, and the nanny was there to watch both of us (even though I was old enough to be unsupervised), so I got to experience just how annoying she could be for a few days.

She would feed my cousin portions of food that weren’t even enough for ME, let alone a pre-teen boy. It was like a handful of carrots and half a sandwich. She had him exercise for about an hour every day while she just watched, played on her phone, and occasionally did some stomach crunches.

That’s just the slightly bothersome part. The REAL annoying bit is the fact that we’d catch her eating a cheeseburger with fries in “secret” every afternoon, and then later hear her complain about how she didn’t have any “abs”. And at that point, both my cousin and I knew that not exercising + regular cheeseburgers = no abs, so she became an annoying, opressive, hypocritical b**** in our minds (just being honest here!)…

Of course, she WAS just doing her job, but she seemed to enjoy being in control and find amusement in us HAVING to do as she said. Grrrr.

@lenabee:  Not a nanny but certainly know plenty of them…I don’t think getting comfortable means streaking through someones home! Why couldn’t you wear a towel?

Nanny cam’s are supposed to catch you doing things you are not supposed to do (hitting kids, stealing, hiding messes, and ect) so telling you about it would have defeated the purpose.

My worst nanny story comes from a friend who was invited to have a threesome with the parents! She declined and resigned
