I one day would like to name my children something unusual and unique. Some of the names I love include:

    Kyler

    Mikabella

    Archer

    Atler

    Natalia

    Briar

    Harper

So give me some other great ideas! I love untraditional names.

My daughters name is Leighton. (lay-ton)
I don't know any other babies named that, but it might not be unique or unusual. :)

    I LOVE Archer btw!

I went to elementary school with a boy named Kyler! And Archer is a fantastic name :)

To be honest I'm not really one for "unusual" names, but I like your picks

My daughter's name isn't unusual (Gianna) but the whole time I was pregnant I called her "Soleil." I still love the name but I decided it wouldn't sound good with an Italian last name.

@misskoala: Love love love Lena Blake! So fabulous. I really like the name Blake for a girl. Gunner makes me think of my uncle that's from Sweden. It's pronounced more like Gooner rather than Gun-er which I imagine is how you mean for it to sound.

@dcdt212: Gianna is really pretty though. I like Giada like Giada De Laurentiis the cheg.

@mudratdetector: I love Hudson. Sadly, FI nixed that name pretty quickly when we were deciding on baby names. I wanted a little boy named Tucker Hudson, but Tucker was thrown out quicker than Hudson.

@MsMamaBear: I like Harper as well. Except then it makes me think of Charlie Harper who is Charlie Sheen. Then I get a little nervous ;)

@MsBrooklynA: Thanks! I really like Giada and wanted that at first but FI really hates Giada De Laurentis, haha. So that was out and it was transformed into Gianna.

I was surprised to see Kyler on your list. I knew a family that was expecting a little boy by that name, but the whole family passed away in a car accident.

Edit: I just wanted to add that Kyler is a really cute name.  I guess I was just caught up in the emotion of remembering the family/situation that occurred when I heard that name.

Her middle name is something strange unique too, but I cant think of it at the moment.

@EvaBostonTerrier: I think at the time (6 years ago) the name may not have been as popular. As well he is the only Kyer I know so that makes a difference. That is a very very sad story. :( I can't believe the entire family didn't make it.

@HoneyBear: I'm not really feeling rainbow. haha Maybe she's Rainbow Indigo or Rainbow Gold ?

Sunday Rose Kidman Urban and Faith Margaret Kidman Urban are more old fashioned but I think it really fits Keith and Nicole.

@MsBrooklynA: OMG. I have to laugh at Eviana. Not because it's different but because my name is Diana and FI's is Evan. When I was preggo FMIL insisted that we should create a name that was a mix of ours. Seriously, she named her boys Evan and Austin and she wanted us to get creative. lol

I actually think it's very pretty but I just couldn't bring myself to name her after us. Oh and FI doesn't like Giada DL because of her smile and how "fake" she acts with her husband. I think he's crazy but ehh.

@dcdt212: So sad. I feel like naming your kid after yourself just feels protentious. Like you are so great that you need someone to carry on the amazingness that is yourself. Why is it that men get kids named after them all the time but to have a Brooklyn Jr just seems so wrong?

Archer has always been one of my faves, but it just doesn't work with FIs last name.

As a kid I loved Calista, under Calista Flockhart became famous.  I still love Brantley for a girl, super unusual.

I've known some people with great names: Nanichi, Emory, Kerrigan, Axton, Piper, Roxy, Leilani, Finn, Sebastian.. all so fun!

@MsBrooklynA: I know men always have to ahve a son with the same name so weird!! My aunt and uncle named a son and a daughter after themselves. We always just called my cousin little rhonda instead of rhonda jr. but now she just goes by RC.

I like the name cam for a boy. Everyone always asks like short for cameron and im like no.. just cam.

I like the name scarlett for a girl which I don't know if that name is unusual or not... I just like the way it oges with my moms middle name so it would be Scarlett Rose. I promised my mom I would use her middle name cause ts been in her family forever!

I have one of the most unique names ever. I have never met another with my name & at 25, having worked in a hospital where I've come across around 15,000 pts, & growing up in Austin, I've never met anyone that's known another.... Amnysti. I like my uniqueness :)

We're sticking with traditional names (Eleanor, for instance, is on the short list), but I like Isla, Lola, Riley (for a girl), Sloane, Amica, Peyton, Tucker, Harper, Bram, Harlow, Beatrix, Lulu

In my family, though, my brother takes the unique name cake--he named his oldest son Exodus Vaughn. If he'd had a girl sooner than he did, she would have been Genesis Faith (Gen for short), but she was the fourth child, and they moved away from it, and she got the super adorable Laela Jane.

My daughter's name is Mikaia. You don't hear it often, its not even in the top 1000 names. I think it's pretty though and we call her Kai or Kaia. When she's older she can choose what she'd like to go by. Anyway it's a female version of Michael in Hebrew and that's FI's name so it was the perfect choice.

i recently had a dream (cant remember it) but when i woke all i remember was  the name evolet or evolette. it was like resounding in my head. it was weird but it just sounded right to me if i ever had a daughter. i looked it up and its the name of the girl in 10,000 bc. also like Echo but i can see that being a name that kids will toss around and make fun of. i also like calliope. rowen is nice. i have other names i like but they are more common. my guy likes fiona but i would like to add a twist...thiona. iona is nice too. libby is a fun name.

boys....i like fynn (my guy says no way). i also like his grandpas name claude...its like a bad boy tough name. we like zeke...like ezekiel. i like biblical names. i like jude (im a beatles fan) shamus is nice but its the irish version of james and i dont like that name so i dont know how that would work. i like ziggy but dont like zigfred but i dont want it to be just ziggy so i dont know what to do with that either. edmund is nice if you dont like edward or edwin

another family name is oliver so maybe olive and oliver if we have some double trouble (which could happen cause we will probably have to do invetro (sp?) or something of the like that sometimes results in more then one)

i also like a lot of irish names and different earthy names as well....but nothing crazy like rainbow or sunshine lol. i like sage, meadow, willow, raine, brooke, dawn....like things along that line they sound like a name not just a thing.

some i made up along the way...yanecka there was a girl in my class and they called her by her last name and i always thought it was her first and thought it was neat sounding so i changed the spelling a little. isralie... pronounced  iz ra lie...nick name izzy. and wisp...but spelled whispe or whisp... its the original name of rainbow brite before she became rainbow brite.

oh and i also know someone who named their girl november...they call her novi :D

but i love different names im like obsessed!!!....my own is a little different and you dont hear it much. as a kid it killed me cause i could never find my name on anything (like gift shops have the cards with the names or trinkets with names on them). but i have gotten over it by now and love that my name is different. and actually my mom wanted my name to be diadra...but thought it was way too different but i kinda like that.

My name (obviously) is Mitzie, and I have never met another Mitzie in real life so when we named my daughter I went with Tarryn Jayde. I still love it, and Tarryn isn't a name you come across very often :) My son on the other hand has an absolutely normal name....

My son's name is Keyan- it matches his bubbly personality blonde beach bum hair and big blue eyes =D

I worked with a lady who named her daughter Deja-Love and my sisters name is Jozell Angelique

For my next kiddo we were thinking Karlisle for a boy or Kennedy/ MaKenna/or Keylee some of those are a little unusual
