It is possible but personally I think your ering looks great with the thicker band.

Intereting. i’ve never heard of shaving a band before. i would of thought you coud exchange the setting for a skinner one. But i totally get the sentamental value and not wanting to trade it in all together. Keep us posted.

I really like your band as is! I think a thinner band would look… not cheap, but flimsy maybe?

Maybe you could do a beautiful thin wedding band when it comes time to pick that out? I think a really petite pave band would be amazing.

I also agree with PPs. Your band looks pretty delicate as is 🙂

@Ninteenthchance:  i don’t think it looks thick at all.  if you do want a thinner band i would suggest talking to a jeweller about trading settings.  it may not cost anything this way.

@Ninteenthchance:  Ask your jeweler both ways, because the labor to shave it, might eclipse the cost of a new setting, especially if your guy takes exchanges.

@Ninteenthchance:  I don’t think it will look weird with thinner bands.. I actually like the look of a slightly thicker ering vs band.. a la Blake Lively.

@Ninteenthchance:  it’s definitely possible. Where did you get your ring? I got the 2.5mm classic comfort fit from Blue Nile but I found it too thick for my liking. I asked if they could size it down to 2mm and they happily did it. So it’s definitely possible and I’m thrilled with my band

@Ninteenthchance:  Is that a knife edge? If so, a 2.5 probably gives the appearance of a 2. I wouldnt change it!! Two eternity bands will look great with it as is!
