I shave everything.... if you know what I mean :) But, as I get more pregnant, its getting harder. For one, I can't even see my crotch anymore! But I can't handle the hair. I don't know what to do. I try to shave by feel, but tend to cut myself (major ouch down there!), and miss lots of spots, which is no good. So, I'm wondering, for you pregnant bees who shave, or previously pregnant bees that did, what did you do? continue shaving by feel? just bear it and let it go? or break down and go get a wax?

I'm no where near having this issue yet, but what about getting into a bathtub with a mirror?

I'm not pregnant and haven't ever been, but I was going to suggest a mirror too maybe?  Or just using the regular mirror in your bathroom instead of trying a hand held one?

When I was preggers with DS I just took a REALLY long time to get the job done. I could still manage to see if I turned, lifted the belly, and manuvered enough but it did take quite awhile.

I REFUSED to go hairy so I just did what I had to do. lol

Or you could get DH to do it?

Or wax.... I might go that route this time just b/c it was really tiring work to get all shaved right last go round. lol

@plantains: I thought about that too! But I have a hard time looking in a mirror and doing something since its backwards! I think I will probably try it though!

ugh I heard somewhere that the hospital shaves you before delivering the baby. I don't care how big I am, no one is shaving me.

    Wax?

@amnystik: I can't remember what I did with DS! I think I shaved, but I really don't remember! It does take so long! Even the legs and everything. And my hair down under has been growing like crazy!

I think it was to make you sterile or something before surgery.

I'm not above demanding that FI help me out, lol. I've noticed it's getting more difficult, but I hate body hair so much. My friend had really curly gross hair on his legs and he used to touch me with his legs because I would start screaming. I even keep disposable razors in my purse, just in case.

People shave during pregnancy?  :)  Lol, I don't care much, so I mostly try to stay "neat" down there and then I shave my legs.

Ummmmm, how much do you trust you husband with a razor blade?  That might be another option.

@Mrs. Spring: I thought about that. I don't know how much I trust him with one though! I think he could do it, but I also think he might get side tracked.... ;)

That's what my husband is for. He already knows he's going to have a new job once I get bigger and can't see anything.

Not sure if this would work, but maybe getting a  handheld mirror and that way you could see what your doing better.

I'm not there yet, but I always shave by feel so maybe just practice that some more!  Or, the PPs had a bunch of good suggestions, too.  :)

@Rosie Girl:  Tehehehe.  :)  My husband's the same way.

Hmmmmm, idk if you can use any depilatory creams in that area...  It might be something to look into.  I waxed once and swore it off for life, but I have some friends who do it as a part of their regular maintenance.  My concern would be that there's a lot of extra blood flow and potential swelling and sensitivty in that region during pregnancy, which would make waxing even more painful than usual.

I let it go after a certain point. I couldn't see and a mirror will NOT help after a certain point. Go for a wax! My SO offered to shave me, but no thanks. I like my lady parts.LOL

I have been shaving by feel.  But I just got an ingrown hair from it Frown  Imagine being 8 months pregnant waddling around with an ingrown hair in your bikini line.    FrownFrownFrown No more shaving for me for a while!

I had that problem too. After a certain point I just let it all go. It was very exciting after the baby came and I could see all, and shave all again.

I got to the point where I couldn't shave it, but I did use the trimmer on the lowest/closest setting.  That way there was almost nothing left, but I didn't run the risk of cutting myself and no ingrown hairs that way either.

I'm with eeniebeans!  Get a trimmer so you can keep it neat down there, or get a mirror like other have suggested.

I'm pretty much at the point where I can no longer see down there and I would hate to have to let it just go natural.

Never pregnant, but I say no to waxing. It hurt enough without all the extra swelling and blood flow, but the ingrown hairs were unbelievable. So imagine trying to use tweezers to get the ingrown hair (or have DH do it)--ugh!

I agree with @cyneswith.  A trimmer is a great compromise.  Won't clean things up as neatly as a razor, but also won't cut your lady parts ;-)

I have the same issue... Except that I usually wax myself, so it's out of the question that I attempt shaving and get my coarse hairs again. So I'm thinking of going for a professional thighs and brazilian bikini wax. I don't think it will hurt that much, since professionals have to hurt less than at home; and this pain will be nothing compared to the labor I'm about to go through, lol! My big question is, when should I get it?? I'm 5 weeks away from my due date, if I go this week, it will have grown by then.. but I don't want to wait for too long either!

@mommytobee:  Hmmm, I'll say, just from my own experience, I wouldn't want to deal with hair regrowth and recovery from a vaginal birth at the same time.  Maybe wait until you're 2 or 3 weeks out from your due date?  Idk, that's my advice.  :)

I never thought about the extra blood down there, and it is a lot more sensitive. I remember trying to wax myself with DS, and ended up getting my legs stuck together! Not a good idea when you can't see either! A trimmer sounds like a good idea, then its at least tame. I jsut hate hair though! I might ask my dr about nair....

I would let it go or trim it with an electric razor/ trimmer.

I used a epilator (its like a bunch of tweezers) It hurts but the results last a whole lot longer so you dont have to do it as much. This is the one I have http://www.amazon.com/Braun-SE-5180-Epilator-Glove/dp/B004QI271W?SubscriptionId=0K76CZ6RCX2Y05HSNPR2&tag=sr-plp-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B004QI271W&ascsubtag=womens-shavers
