Wraps are cute. I don't think they would look weird. Have you considered maybe bolero jackets?
I was in a December wedding, and the bride provided us with pashminas. The pashminas were great and kept us kind of warm . . . but, when you're out taking pictures in 30 degrees whether, nothing is really going to keep you totally warm :)
I think your bridesmaid dress is beautiful and simple enough, that anything would look nice layered. I do think a bolero would look great too, especially because it could be left open to show the ruching.
How about a cute fitted and cropped cardigan? I wore one during the reception of a wedding I was in, and I thought I looked pretty cute :)
Even though the dress has rouching, I think the wraps look good since it's a nice basic shape and cut. And I'm also a fan of the pashminas, that would look nice too.

Ok so, I'm getting married December 18th of this year and the dress my girls are wearing is short and strapless. So I'm thinking shawls would be perfect for them. Since their dresses are read I was leaning towards silver. Or, doing with the girls what I'm doing with my wedding dress and adding a fur wrap. Then I realized it might not look right with their dresses. Here's the dress:
It has all this "rouching" at the top. So, would the shawls or a fur wrap look weird with that?
