This morning I saw a 10 day forecast that indicated there was a ‘chance of rain’ on the day of my outdoor, by the beach wedding. I had a bit of a lament to the girls who work in my office building (who have all been amazing and supportive and many of who are coming to the wedding). All but one gave the ‘it’ll be okay, it’s pretty unlikely but you’ve already spoken to your rental company about canopies so you’ll be fine’ speeches I needed. The ‘one’ (who I do adore & am friends with) instead started in with the ‘well, what did you expect’ speech which I brushed off.
So I got my bit of reassurance I went back to my office and tried to put it out of my head. Along comes ‘one’ to tell me again that she loves the rain, that I should have expected this and on and on. I got a bit annoyed and said ‘one, i really don’t want to think about this right now’.
Now ‘one’ is furious at me and doesn’t want to talk to me. Normally I’d keep trying to talk to her until she came around, but right now I’m so peeved at the whole situation that I don’t have it in me. I thought *I* was supposed to be the hyper-sensitive one 9 days out from my wedding!

@CWandJJ: Why should you have expected it? It is not the rainy season…. weatherchannel.com does not say anything about rain. It is saying sunny and hot.

No one expects rain in August so I can understand your frustration. I am curious where your wedding will be that expects rain?
Don’t trust the forecast they are wrong a lot of the time. Keep checking here…much more accurate.

@Cady: I’ve gotten different forecasts from different sites, first thing this morning I read one that indicated a ‘chance of rain’ for my location… It seems (from other sites) that it was wrong (phew) but it sure put a jolt of fear in me!

@Treejewel19: That is in fact the grandest thing about the whole situation – it looks like the site was totally off which is a huge relief but hasn’t helped the situation with ‘one’ at all!

Get over it? You’re being too sensitive.

@aloisk57: I’m being too sensitive about my friend refusing to speak to me about anything because I didn’t want to speak to her about a particular topic? Interesting take on the situation.

Oh no! I hope it doesn’t rain for you! Have a back-up plan, like going into the venue to continue the services.

Ugh. No I don’t think you’re being too sensitive. Of course you’re on edge with your wedding so close, and having a friend intentionally try to push your buttons and then refuse to speak to you, even if its over something minor, is not what you need. Luckly, the weather forecast knows nothing 9 days in advance. I’m in Los Angeles too. *hugs*

Ah, the 10 day forecast. Hubs was like “STOP LOOKING YOU CAN’T CHANGE IT!” 🙂
It went from 78deg and party sunny (talk about perfect wedding weather) to 99deg and 50% chance of rain to 95deg and SUN.
It ended up raining the day before and being just plain effing hot. Although not the 99 that some predicted, and there was a breeze, so it was bearable.
