So a couple weekends ago I was at a wedding.. and a woman was there, wearing a full out wedding dress. I'm not even kidding.

    White? Check.

    Pick ups? Check.

Illusion bodice a la pnina tornai? check.

    Beadwork? Check.

    Pouffy? Check.

I was HORRIFIED. and SO mad. I don't know what could possibly have made her think that she could do that.. her and her husband are really rich and he also came in a tux and acted as though they were the bride and groom.. and I wanted to go all "Bride wars " on her ass.

    WHO DOES THAT!!!

That's very wierd. Awful even! I'm sure all the guests knew who the real bride & groom were thou, I'd think it would be more embarassing for the rich couple.

maybe she was confused like dinner party guest wears a dinner jacket, and a cocktail party guest wears a cocktail dress, therefore wedding party means wedding dress lol

LOOOL hahaha vistagirl.. that was funny..

I dont KNOW what she was thinking, but apparently word on the street is that she wore it to another wedding and one girl went up to her and asked her if she was Bride #2.. it was so infuriating!

akennedy - not the same couple but i could see it happening!

yes! TWICE. a two time offender.

I mean.. i've seen girls wear what at the time seemed really inappropriate in terms of "whiteness" at a wedding, but this really went above and beyond. I actually felt anger in my heart. lol..

I saw a girl wear a long white evening gown to a wedding. I actually thought she was another bride in the same venue (it was big) until I saw the actual bride hugging her! I was really confused, at the time I didn't even know that people WORE white to weddings if they weren't the bride so it took a while for it to click!

Not that I have the kind of guest coming who would do this, but it is posts like this that make me SOOO glad that I have my MOH in my life, and that she is my MOH. I wouldn't even have to worry about this, she would KICK THIS B_CH'S A$$. No doubt.

Seriously, though, how messed up are people?

That is wild! I'm sure I would have been steamed if someone did this to me, but honestly it is such a good story to have because it is not only a white dress, it is a full-on wedding gown, and it reflects so badly on the guest (as opposed to the wedding.) I would looooooooooove to see a pic though...please tell me you or one of your friends has one...

Man, I wish you had a photo!  Tongue out

I am pretty laid-back about the whole "wearing white to a wedding" thing, but I would NOT be happy if someone wore an actual wedding GOWN!!   The dress you described sounds fancier than my own wedding dress, lol!

oh yes - it was FANCY. it wasn't a simple white gown.. what really got me was that it had PICK UPS.. what regular dress has pick ups?!

Ddubzz - I agree, I think I'm very laid back about this rule, I see no problem with guests wearing a dress with white in it, as long as it's not the whole thing, white sweaters, blazers, or shawls are totally fine, I think bridal parties dressed all in white are super chic. But this is crazy! Why would she that that's ok??

seriously if she wore that to MY wedding, she wouldnt be wearing white for long, i would promptly find the largest glass of red wine i could find and pour it over her - at least it would save another bride from having to put up with that crap.

the nerve. seriously. really!? no home training. *jaw on floor*

Dang, if that was my wedding I know my entire side would have either jeered her almost the entire time, spilled something on her and/or kicked her butt outside minus anything she checked cause she wouldn't have time to pick anything up. Of course, my two male cousins both promised severe retribution if my FI even thought about anything that might possibly make me cry, so if somebody decided to f with my one special "I'm dressing up IN A DRESS" day, she'd literally have landed in mud outside soo quick! I don't know how she managed to score an invite to a second wedding, because I'm sure the bride heard about the first time. If this chick did manage to make it throughout the night, I hope there were few to no pictures of her giant faux pa and that she will be ashamed when she grows older. I just hope this doesn't happen to her children's weddings, because then maybe she'll understand.

But seriously, wow and not in a good way!
