I finished my last wedding of the month! I have client meetings and a show this weekend and that's it so I should be around a bit more. I never realized how busy I would get and how fast, I know in May and June I will be scarce as well due to the busy wedding seasons...

I wish we could support this young photographer in some way but we're in totally different regions! Ah well. I'll just fan her on Facebook and hope the word spreads. Can't wait to see how her work progresses!
@Vegan: omg once you hear her pricing you may just fly her in she is probably a tenth of the pricing of some other "professionals". I have rethought everything I have ever known about photography and we know that i am a photography whore and adore all good pictures. after meeting her, good things do come in small and young packages and she has blown me away. i cannot say enough good things about her lol!!!!!!!!!!!
I think the photos are AMAZING, but...
there are certain things a pro can offer you that you should ask her about. Simple things, like how many batteries does she plan to bring (if she says one, not good!), and does she have backup equipmentin case of a failure. What if she gets sick, do you have a backup? A pro would have his or her own.
I don't want to discourage you, just don't want you to miss out on one-shot-deal photos!
As long as there is a plan B, I say go for it!

You know, FI and I were actually considering taking a vacation to New Orleans after the semester ends. Maybe we can set up an e-shoot down there with her--think she'd be up for it? I'm just so impressed. I could barely focus a digital camera at her age, let alone take fantastic shots and use photoshop to edit them.
What?!?! She's going to have an amazing career, good for her. She seems to have been born to be a photographer!
@meno: i work in the wedding industry, so trust me when i say when i put faith in someone they are really good lol.... and i have personally seen professional photographers come without enough batteries and send an assistant to get one. a bride would never know those things because they are behind the scenes. eta that you are definitely right and asking the right questions, but definitely ask them of every photog no matter how professional they appear at first glance.
@vegan: definitely contact her, her engagement pix are a really reasonable price and she gives the digis too. heck i cannot even take pictures and focus them lol! if you decide to work with her for your e-shots, send her pix of things that you like etc, you'll adore her, she's so funny and adorable and eager. she still has the spark without the arrogance.

@anchors: lol i told her that i adored her work. i think i see a lot of myself in her and it's very refreshing because the wedding industry can be BRUTAL when you're inside it and it can become very disheartening. I texted her and let her know that folks really like her pictures and she was like oh wow REALLY? lol!!!

To clarify she was the main shooter at this wedding, but shot as a second shooter at the wedding where I met her.
I want to fly her to australia to take piccies at my wedding. :( pity for budgets sake! She is super talented!

Although I for one would never hire a teenager...i'd be concerned about legalities of hiring someone underage and all that other stuff!

She is very talented! Imagine how her work is going to progress as she keeps shooting. She will be one of the top photographers in her region. :)
just jumped on my itouch and the pics showed up on there... (work wireles? i dont know...) anyway, she is VERY MUCH TALENTED... if she can get those shots at 15, i can only imagine what her work will be like in a few years!

I did a wedding this weekend for a great person I met here on the Hive and suggested a photog that I worked with on another wedding, she shot as a second shooter as a gift and I loved her pictures. She will make you rethink everything you know about photography. She is 15 years old and can hold her own with the best. I had to share her pictures... btw her pricing will make you fall over!! And yep she's doing my bridals!!!! I didn't even know I wanted any until I met her :o)
For privacy purposes I won't post pictures of the bride... but I think you will get the gist of things from the detail shots....
and finally proof that it shouldn't take weeks and months to get back wedding pix!!!here's the wedding date :o)
