I can’t relate, but congratulations. All that matters is that you and your husband are happy. 🙂 best of luck!

As Rouquine said, I can’t relate, but I do believe that if this is what makes you and your hubby happy that is what def matters the most. Congratulations!

Congrats!  How/when are you going to “come out” as married?  Certainly the pastor uncle would benefit from knowing you aren’t ‘living in sin’, right?  I’m sure people will be happy for you!

We just eloped on Saturday, but most people know 🙂

shhhhhh (((congratulations!!)))

i’m glad that you’re so happy.  i’m sure when you tell your family they will be equally excited for you.  tell them that being married was more important than a big wedding.

Why does it have to be a secret? I can’t imagine eloping and not telling anyone after the fact!

@OmgOmg:  Good for you! It’s wonderful for you, your DH, and your son that you decided to marry!

However, I don’t think you should try to keep your marriage a secret. First, I’m sure everyone will be very happy for you that you decided to tie the knot and, second, it will be absolutely impossible to keep your marriage a secret for another two to three years.  Your family is probably going to be a bit upset and disappointed that you eloped, but if you tell them now, their disappointment will likely be much less than if they discover this fact in two to three years when your pastor is officiating at your big, vow-renewal celebration instead of a marriage ceremony.

@OmgOmg:  My husband and I eloped 6 years ago. We did it for legal issues though and we’re now planning a Convalidation Ceremony since we’re both Catholic. We casually told our family over dinner when we came back from our weekend getaway and they were beyond furious. they got over it real quick so don’t stress too much about telling your family, they too will get over it. Congratulations.
