Alright ladies I need some help here. My wedding gown is in NJ and I live in CA. I need the dress shipped here and I have some questions.

How did you ship YOUR dress?

    How can I ship mine?

    Was it expensive?

    How much was it?

    How long did it take?

    Thank you girls! Laughing

Well, I bought my dress from another bride, and it's $50 shipping from Santa Fe to the town in Illinois where my parents live. I'm not sure how long it's going to take since it's being cleaned right now, but I think it'll be about 3-5 days.

You know my bridal shop actually shipped my dress for me and they charged about $75.00 to do it.  I think the real reason why it was so expensive was that it had to be insured for the value of the dress. (What if something happens to it enroute?)  They used FedEx and they actually used 2 day shipping (it required a signature for delivery...)  But my dress is pretty lightweight, if you have a big heavy dress it will be more...

Yeah I think Fedex would be a good choice, just make sure it's insured for its value in case something happens to it... It couldn't hurt to put it in a garment bag and wrap it in tissue for safe-keeping... You will have to get it steamed once it arrives to get out any wrinkles...

I bought the dress online. It is free shipping. The dress is $299. I thinks the dress is more than this price.

I was told not to ship it just in case something happens in the mail but to carry it on with you on the plane..what do you think?

I would either use FedEx or UPS. That way you can accurately track it, require a signature and insure it just in case something happens to it. You will definitely want to take it to get the wrinkles steamed out once it arrives so allow time for that. I shipped my sisters wedding dress from WA to OK with UPS and it was about $75. It was a heavier dress (the Mona Lisa Royale by Maggie) and I had it insured.

Just use FedEx or UPS-- it won't be that expensive and they safely deliver packages all day, every day.

Ah perfect thank you! Since my dress weighs like 687643 lbs I expect it to be about $75.
