For those of you who made shoe baskets with flip flops to put near the dancefloor....

How did you decide how many of each size to get? We expect about 75 guests and I have no idea how many flip flops to get or in what sizes!

MAybe poll your guests on the RSVP.  If you want it to be a supriseish thing if you stick with 7-9... maybe a couple biger sizes, but the "average size" is 7.  ppl will wear them a little big.

I agree with kdlowery, get the majority in the 7-8 range for women and 10-11 range for the men, get some in the other sizes too and I'm sure whoever takes 'em will be happy with wearing em a little big if necessary.

You'll have to poll your female guests via word of mouth. The "average" won't work for everyone. Also, there are women who won't take any so then you have to think about what you'll do with the extras since stores won't generally take returns once the tags have been removed. Men don't change out of their shoes so I wouldn't even think to have a basket of flip flops for guys.

We had 85 guests at our wedding.  I didn't even factor guys in when picking out sizes for the flip flop basket b/c as it was said, guys don't change out of their shoes....I ended up buying a couple 5-6s and 11-12s and then the rest were 7-8 and 9-10.  I bought 20 pairs figuring not every woman would even need/want to change into flip-flops.  To be honest, no one even grabbed them until the end of the night, but was glad we had them.  We only had a couple left over.
