So awhile ago my Mum and I were antique-hunting and we came across these stunning brooches from the 1950s. Originally, I wanted to use them in my hair, but as we all know, I fell in love with a tiara instead!
SO. Now I’m thinking that I would like to bling up my shoes a bit, as they are fairly plain and simple.
The brooches obviously don’t match, but I kind of love that about them. A bit quirky and unique, like me! 🙂
What do you guys think?

Have you tried the shoes on with the brooches? The one on the right looks like it might dig into your right toe… They’re beautiful. I love the round one, it’s too bad antique brooches don’t come as doubles! The mis-match bothers me a bit, but they’re both so pretty. Maybe try them on with your dress and see if it seems to work.

I like the brooches, but maybe on different shoes.

@aberry: The brooches are loosely pinned on right now, which is why they are at some strange angles, but I actually tried them on with the brooches on and they didn’t touch my skin! 🙂

I just did the same thing with my shoes! I didn’t want to spend a fortune on shoe clips, so I went to an antique store and got some vintage rhinestone earrings for a few bucks. They clip on just like a shoe clip, and don’t rub. Plus you could wear them later if you wanted to, and you know they will match, since they’re earrings!
You could always consider pinning them on the side of your shoe, too. Then no one really knows they don’t match. 🙂

I like the round one best. But, if you’re okay with the assymetrical look go for it!

I like them!
But I feel like they need to go on a plainer pair of shoes 🙂
