I am having a major bridal crisis getting my wedding shoes. I know nobody else cares, because after all, they’re just shoes and I’m only going to be wearing them once; but as brides we all know what a big deal it really is. So here’s the problem.
I have now ordered 3 (yes 3) different pairs of shoes online only to have them not match. The first pair was red, but it was the wrong red and I quickly abandoned the red-shoe idea. The second pair was not only too small, but the ivory was really white and my dress is sort of an antique ivory (more yellowish). The third pair is listed as ivory on the website, but when I received them, they’re actually a champagne (think light beige). –see pics below–
Of course at this point I’m frustrated and feeling hopeless. I know no one will be able to see my shoes under my dress, but that is not the point. I mean, I could be wearing granny panties underneath and no one will see them, but I will know and I’m a perfectionist, so IT MATTERS!
Anyway, I have laid out my obvious options and here they are: 1) Send them back and trying again, 2) Add champagne to my colors (rosewood and sage) and rock them like a boss, 3) just wear them and hope no one will notice, 4) ???
What is a neurotic, perfectionist bride to do?

@msfreemis: You still have lots of time. If you don’t like them send them back. Do you live in an area where you could shoe shop in person at a brick and mortar store?

Girl, I ordered and sent back no less than 6 pairs of shoes, before I hit up a massive ballroom dance shoe store where I tried on no less than FORTY pairs of shoes in one hour. So I hear your pain, I do.
However, here is my advice to you: Wear whatever shoes make you happy (and your feet happy). No one is really going to notice or care aside from you, honestly.
Its honestly not worth it….and I’m a shoe girl!!

Ughhh, I’ve been having major shoe troubles, as well! I totally understand what you’re going through! If you are concerned about the color of your shoes not exactly matching your dress, you might want to try shoes made from a different material. I love the shoes that are covered in crystals. Benjamin Adams makes some nice one.

Sounds like you need to send them back and go shoe-shopping in person!

@msfreemis: I feel you — order all the pairs in several sizes from zappos if your credit card can handle the 1-2k charge. You’ll get free shipping and free returns.
Order strassed, leather, etc. I changed my shoe idea several time so far and I have more than a year to go!
I finally found these perfect Badgley Mishkas for 75% off on Amazon (free shipping, free returns on Prime if you have that) so I’m sticking with them.
That’s how I found my bm shoes for a friends wedding. Ordered 20 pairs, returned 19. Pay off the CC each month so it’s not debt and there’s no interest charged.

I feel your pain… I have two pair that need to go back to Zappos sitting on my floor. Have you considered going the dyeable route? I tried on a pair of Angela Nurans last night and fell in love with how they fit, so I’m ordering in white and then will get them dyed. I found a pair on tradesy that were my size… fingers crossed anyway!

I too have been shoe crazy – I think I have 3 pairs currently, HA. However, I have always picked shoes that I would definitely wear again (usually bold colors or something appealing outside of the wedding). Also go for comfort, it is going to be a LONG day, who needs blisters?

@msfreemis: I was the same way but it was in the accessories dept for me. I was buying earrings like crazy to them return them b/c something just wasn’t right til I found the perfect accessories.
Just a thought…..have you tried ordering from Zappos? They offer free shipping and returns so you could try out as many as you like…..they ask no questions so its easy to return. I’ve bought a lot from them with no issues!

@kearaaaaaa: Would absolutely love to try them on and see them in person, but most of the stores in my area don’t carry the bridal collection in stores. Next to purses, shoes are my favorite!

I don’t even have my dress yet and me wedding is in the beginning of July 😉 so just return them and keep looking. You’ve got plenty of time to find the ones!

Don’t you worry – I ordered and sent back 7 pairs of shoes before finding the ones I loved. And one of my really good girl friends? Let’s just the mailman started to hate on her after delivering an entire shoe store to her house! Thank goodness for free shipping and return shipping – can you take advantage of that?

Perhaps you should get a sample swatch of your dress and then purchase dyable shoes?

msfreemis: Your dress looks beautiful on you!! Sorry, I don’t mean to hijack your thread, just had to see it:)
As far as shoes go, I tried about 20 or so pairs until I found 2 perfect ones, I’m a little bit of perfectionist too. I ordered from websites with easy returns Amazon, Nordstrom, some ebay stores. DSW has lots of pretty sparkly shoes. You’ll find them or they’ll find you:)

masteritsa: Thank you. I am not quite sure what I’m going to do about the dress yet. But I’ve decided to add champagne as one of my colors and keep the shoes. I may even do a champagne sash to tie the two together and have my daughters wear this champagne/ivory flower girl dress from DB
