So here is the dilemma I have. I have had my eye on a pair of designer shoes that I have been wanting for my wedding for about a month now. Im in love with them, no other shoes compare and I just CANT get it out of my head.

The shoes are Spring 2009 collection and thus VERY hard to find! Retail is 185.00 (OUT of my price range...seriously)

I have found a source that says they might be able to get a pair for me but have to confirm with their supplier. It would cost about 80 dollars shipped. These are Authentic pairs!

But then I found IOffer....oh ioffer how you tempt me. I KNOW for a fact that these shoes are not authentic! They are a replica aka knock off version of the designer shoes I want at a whopping 45 dollars shipped.

I dont know what to do. should I just buy the knock offs? I really am looking at the design of the shoe more then the designer. And I dont have much money at all. We are so tight with our budget...

    Opinions??

Can you return the knock offs if they aren't what you want?  I would only be hesistant to order if the return policy was sketchy.

What shoes are they?  Maybe the hive can help you find a good deal or a similar shoe that works for you in your price range :)

Getting $100 off of the shoes sounds like a fantastic deal if you can swing it.  Maybe scale something else back a bit to make up for the cost?

But if your budget is really tight, you might want to go with the knock-offs, but is there a return policy?  The tough part of knockoffs is that they might not be as comfortable as the designer pair.

Sit down with your fi and play around with the budget in order to determine if there's room!

I so agree with Mandy... If the return policy on the knock off will cause u to be out more money it's not worth it i would hate for u to pay $45 for knock offs that dodn't look all that great then still have to pay another $80 for the discounted pair anyway... Maybe the extra $35 is worth the piece of mind

The shoes are VIVIENNE WESTWOOD DRAGON LADY BLUE

I adore these shoes, they are weird and fun. and I doubt I can find something similiar :(

The shoes are made of Jelly, and my FI knows this. Hence why he was totally livid at paying close to 100 dollars for the real thing. he said that I should buy the knock offs because paying 80 dollars for jelly shoes is ridiculous :((

Ugh, I hate knock-offs! Some are great, others are shoddy... and you just don't know online. Better to either a) get the Westwoods and pamper yourself or b) find a more reputable brand in your price range on a site like endless, bluefly, etc that accepts returns.

I would be worried about the quality of the knockoffs. Are they shoes you would ever wear again? If so then its its worth the extra money to get the designer shoes. If the knockoffs are poorly made and uncomfortable- you will be paying $40 to wear them once. However, if the authentic $80 shoes are comfortable, and well made you may find you'll wear them for years to come and they are worth the investment.

Ahh!  I remember seeing these in Neiman Marcus the other day and LOVED them!  I totally get why you're so in love with them ;-)

And since they're so fabulous, you're bound to wear them again, right?  Think about how many times you might wear them out within a year and break it down to a price-per-wear for your fi--it might ease the blow a little.

I would go for the knock off. I looked at a seller of this item on iOffer.com and they do have a return policy... minus shipping. I think it could be worth the risk!

    Maybe check ebay?

Or, you could maybe try calling that epaulet store to see if you can get on a waiting list... since valentine's day just happened, maybe they will have some returns?

I love the shoes. Good luck with finding them at a good price.
