Hi all, I need some advice. My wedding is 24 days (yay!) but I am stressing over one issue. My wedding may/may not be on the beach depending on the weather. We have to tell our venue that morning. My dress is hemmed to my reception shoe height – a 4 3/4in heel. If my wedding is on the beach, I need to go barefoot or attempt to walk in massive platform sandals. My seamstress said she cannot do a front bustle for my barefoot state because of the layers and layers of dress (crinoline, etc).
Does anyone have any suggestions I am not thinking of? I prefer to not wear giant platform sandals as I can barely walk in the sand in flipflops without tripping! But I also dont want to trip over my extra 5 inches of dress!!!
Btw – A platform or walkway is not an option.

ADP419: Congratulations on your wedding and I trust being a newlywed is amazing! Just wanted your advice on how you handled this situation.. My ceremony will be on the beach too and I wanted to go barefoot but my reception shoes are 4 inches.
I was planning on winging it and have the dress a bit long and tippy toe on the sand.. or wear a petticoat at the ceremony to lift the hem a bit. Also, I’m going to ask my planner to have a little box at the end of the aisle to prop me up lol

buttaflybride: Hi! Thank you! I ended up hemming the dress to the 4″ heel height, then using some pins and pinning it under in the front up for the barefoot walk on the beach. Worked pretty well for me as I had a flange hem, not a straight one. I actually didnt even need to unpin it when I put my heels back on. I did hold the dress up a tad with one hand while walking down the aisle tho. Best of luck!
