I've always loved the color sapphire/royal blue. It's my birthstone and I just think it's a gorgeous and romantic color. So naturally, when I got engaged, I knew I had to incorporate it into my wedding somehow, especially since we're going with a wintery theme. I debated on using it for the BM dresses, but ended up deciding on a pale/icy blue instead. Lately I've been thinking I really want to wear sapphire blue shoes on my big day! However, I'm afraid of how it will look with my wedding dress. Did any of you wear blue shoes, or any color shoe in general? I'd love to see pictures. I've already chosen the shoe, it's Davids Bridal "Kitty" I ordered it in white but will have it dyed closer to time.
So here are my concerns. Will having a sapphire blue wedding shoe look weird since I'm having light blue BM dresses? I was thinking it'd be okay, I kind of want to stand out anyways :)
And secondly, will it look bad with my ivory wedding dress?
I'd love your opinions and to see your colored shoes!

I'll be wearing an ivory dress with blue shoes - so I think it'll look great!

They are from Ann Taylor, but I bought them AGES ago (found them via WB of course!).
Check eBay or the classified, I'm sure they're still out there.
Here are mines Nina Critia...they come in lots of colors.

@nurselindsey: Nooo I wish! They are *very* similar looking Martinez Valeros that I bought from Nordstrom. There are a few bees on here that have the Manolos though *drool*

@sali2011: These are my latest obsession in shoes and if I didn't have my pink ones, I would so wear these and make them my something blue. Dont know what blue youre looking for but I thought I would show you:

@misspumpkinpenguin - It’s an Allurebridal. They have several chiffon dresses in a pale blue color similar to that shoe. Very affordable also! I love that color.
@Amanda.lynn- Oh how I love that color orange. Those shoes are awesome!
This is a great thread! I'm looking for burgundy/wine colored shoes, but haven't picked any yet.
I have the Nina Electra in the purple-I feel like it's pretty common so I was suprised no one had posted yet!

@ mrsmurraytobe, those Tiffany Blues ROCK! i'm not sure what shade of blue, probably a darker blue like a cobalt or royal.
I think one of the beautiful things about white/ivory dresses is you can literally wear whatever shoes you want.
I'm wearing champagne coloured shoes. They're only a slight colour but they have a pearly sheen on them which I love.
I also have the Nina Elektra shoes in grape!! I LOVE them!!
P.s... I think you should wear blue shoes!! No matter what the color is ;]

Everyone's shoes are so beautiful! I have just ordered mine: I wanted color, but somewhat demure color too. I wish I could pull off the bright colored shoe, but I don't think it works with my dress.

And I think your dress is simple (in a good way, don't worry!), so you would TOTALLY be able to pull off colored shoes.
I went with the Via Spiga Divert...I'll be taking off the bow and adding some peacock feathers
I'll also be DIY Strassing some purple shoes for the reception.
I think your shoes in a darker sapphire blue would look awesome with your dress and would tie in just fine with your lighter bridesmaids dresses. And a bride doesn't need an excuse to wear something blue anyway.
And here are my shoes just because it's hard to resist a shoe thread.

Here are mine, though this is after tromping around in wet grass for an hour! We added the ribbon and rinestones at the front of the shoes.
I finally decided on my shoes, after searching for the perfect blue shoes...I was hoping to find something with a shorter heel, but turns out every blue shoe I loved was at least 3 inches! I have a feeling these babies will be kicked off after the first dance (they're 4 inches!) =)
