I love shoes but is it wrong to splurge on a pair?  I'm in complete love with these Roberto Cavallis!  I like the idea of doing different color shoes but I don't know if the 4 1/4" heel will make my dress rise too high off the ground.   Plus I *know* I could use the money elsewhere in the wedding for sure.  So, is it bad for me to spend so much on a shoe?  Let me know how you feel!

First of all, the shoes are HOT HOT HOT - I love them.  I say go for it if they make you so happy.  Will you wear them later??

Without a doubt!  I'd probably wear them for weeks straight, whether they went with what I was wearing or not! :)

I registered JUST to reply to you!! Ive been blog lurking a few days now anyways, this shoe is the same concept at a FRACTION of the price, and I think you can dye it to be any color. Hope this helps!

You should TOTALLY buy these shoes.  I faced the same dilemma.  Although I am a shopper, I usually do not splurge on shoes at all.  But I fell in love with this one pair of Louboutins that I just had to get.  So I bought them.  I felt guilty at first, but don't anymore.  After all, ideally, you only get married once!  This is one of the few days in your life when you are justified in splurging on things you might not normally get! :)

Buy them!!! I totally splurged on my shoe. You are buying an expensive dress it only makes sense to pair it up with expensive shoes!

Holy Crap those are high...but sooooo sexy!  If you like them and will suck up the pain that those shoes will undoubtedly cause, I say GO FOR IT!!!!  Sexy mama!  =)

I am totally guilty of splurging on a pair of shoes myself - so i say GO FOT IT! :) But i also have to add - those shoes are so HOT but do not look too comfortable. Is there a way you can try them on first? There is absolutely no platform in the front, which makes for a very high arch so no matter how hot the shoe, it won't be worth it if you can't wear it all night! :)

Sorry but I will be in the minority and say no. They're really high and they don't seem to be something you could wear a lot more on a regular basis (at least to me).

I think I'm probaly the lone exception.  In general no one will see your shoes for the most part and with that style in particular people won't see the really cool ankle part unless you walk around with your dress raised up in your hands.

Not that you can't wear a special or fancy shoe but if you know there are other areas of your wedding that you need this money for then I'd make a compromise....you can buy  some really nice shoes for half the price and put the other $250 or more towards the part of your wedding that needs it most.

Those are HOT!  I tend to spend $500+ on all my shoes (work and play), so i'm biased here but I say YES do it!!  And I'm sorry but they are 50% off the original price!!  That in itself would make me buy them.

The one thing that I do have to add is that if you have never worn 4"+ heels, you need to practice.  I live in 4 inch heels and even I have a hard time wearing some of the Jimmy Choo's that I own that are 4 inches.  I've seen some girls attempt to wear really high heels and they end up walking all wobbly.

Personally, I think if you have to ask - you know you can't afford/don't really want them. If there are other places you want to use the money - don't get the shoes.

I appreciate all of your opinions...the shoes are fantastic but like several people have pointed out 4" heels can get kinda tiring...even though I'm pretty accustomed to the heel height, I do want to dance and stuff so that might pose a problem.  I'll have to sleep on it.  I saw the shoes just today so I'm kinda on that shoe find high.  Someone suggested buying them and trying them out...thats a possible option as well...they might not be so bad after all.  They are just exactly what I'm looking for so I might just have to go ahead and spend. :)  My FI will appreciate it eventually I'm sure.

You should totally have shoes that make you happy.  However, do remember that you will probably be wearing them for 5 or 6 hours, and you don't (as you said) want to spend your whole reception sitting down.  If they are Zappos you can order them and walk around in your house in them all you want - and then send them back if they don't seem so fabulous or practical, or if you have serious money guilt over them.  I have three pairs from Zappos right now I am trying to decide between - I swear that two will go back by the end of the month.  Maybe. (Free shipping and returns!!)

I don't disagree with the splurge idea in general, but for these- if you don't normally wear such a high heel, I wouldn't do it. You will be uncomfortable all night and it might scare you from wearing them again.  They are seriously HOT shoes!  If you had found a pair with a similar price tag but they seemed to be a little more comfortable (thereby increasing your chances for multiple wears), I would say go for it.

I am having a similar internal struggle over these: http://www.raffaello-network.com/raffties/detail.php?itemid=100500&rangeid=29

How often would you TRULY wear them?  I always try to convince myself that something is worth it because I'll get lots of use out of it, and I never do.  They're beautiful shoes, if you'll actually get a significant amount of use out them, because that's a lot of money to spend for shoes that you'll wear for 6 hours and then store in the closet.  I went through a similar debate with shoes, and finally decided that it wasn't worth me spending more than $200 on shoes for the wedding.  I'm a scientist so I definitely couldn't wear nice shoes to work, and I work 80+ hours per week, so I don't go out often enough to justify needing another pair of going out shoes.  Plus, I live in the city and walk EVERYWHERE, and destroy all my shoes after just 2-3 wears, and it's expensive to have them repaired!  I've unfortuntely found it has nothing to do with the quality of the shoes either -- I have a beautiful (beautiful!!) pair of Manolo Blahnik's that I wore TWICE and the metal of the stiletto is already poking out the bottom.  Twice!  That's like $350 per wear before I need to go and spend $40 to have them repaired.  I'm done with expensive shoes and living in the city -- not worth it for me.

peacock- those are such cute shoes! (sorry to feed your addiction, and I could see where maybe they're not totally... realistically necessary, but I think you just introduced me to some shoes to obsess over...)
