One couple I know used Rainbow Sandals. They're super comfy and mold to your feet after you break them in a bit. But because of that, they're a little pricier. Also, they're not very dressy :-/ Here's a link though: http://rainbowsandals.com/Default.asp
My FI and GMs are all wearing brown leather sandals from Clarks, style "Mallard". http://www.zappos.com/n/p/p/7383626/c/216.html
They all think it's comfy, and it goes quite nicely with his sand colored suit for our beachside wedding. hth
How dressy do you want them to be?

I think even flip flops are uncomfortable in sand. Most people I see kick them off as soon as they step onto the beach. Go barefoot!
We're planning on doing barefoot in the sand and brown JCrew sandals after for him.

Dear Hive - I have a doozy of a mission - find attractive, appropriate (dressy enough) sandals for my groom to wear to our beach wedding - he's wearing a blue pinstriped suit.
Oh, and he has wide feet (just to make finding men's shoes a bit more interesting).
Any suggestions would be great!
