I’ve been watching Grey’s since the beginning and SO got me into Scandal last year. After hysterically sobbing/having mini panic attacks through many episodes of “Shondaland” shows, I have come to the conclusion that she is a sociopath who would probably be abducting people to torture and kill if she didn’t have the outlet of anxiety-inducing dramatic televison.
It isn’t just what she puts her characters through… it’s the way she screws witht he audience. Remember last season’s GA opener when she took the whole damn hour to tell us who survived the plane crash? Yeah. You’re a jerk, Shonda. She did the same freaking thing with Webber this year…. except it took TWO hours!
I hate her. I love her, but I hate her.

I’ve watched Grey’s since the beginning too, and last night was a nail biter for sure! Is this the last season?
I’ve never watched Scandal, maybe I should start! Like I need more shows to schedule into the PVR….

I’ve given up on GA. I do want to get back into Scandal.

It’s really funny that you say this. I used to love Grey’s and stopped watching during season 4. It wasn’t that I had long suspected that she had no idea how to have any character have a successful or relatively happy relationship (I mean seriously, even Bailey wasn’t safe from the drama llama), but it was that Shonda started killing off more characters rather than have them, you know, go to other hospitals or move or something. And from what my BFF who still watches tells me, it’s gotten worse that you’re more likely to die working for Seattle Grace than going in for surgery.

Killing Lexi was the last straw.

Grey’s drives me crazy… is it really necessary to kill someone ALL THE TIME?! And she loves to do the “multiple people are knocking on death’s door, but which one is actually going to kick the bucket?” thing. She did it with George and Izzy. She did it with the plane crash. And she did it just now.
It’s just too much… but I still can’t stop watching.
