I’m pretty shaken up and generally distraught today. There was a shooting at local high school (about 1/2 hour away from my college) this morning between 7:30 and 8:00. Four students are seriously injured, and one has died.
The shooter was a student like the rest of them, and he has been taken into custody.
There a ton of news stories about it, they have more information than I do:
I have several friends who went to school there. My best friend is an education major who tutors kids there. I am so upset; I just don’t understand how anyone can get to a place in their life where they feel the need to do something so senseless and violent.
Please keep your thoughts and prayers with the students and their families today.

I heard about this in the morning, my heart skipped a beat. I never understand when things like this happen.

@Miss Fish: I grew up a couple of towns over from Chardon. I even went to a homecoming dance at the high school. It is a scary, crazy world we live in. My thoughts and prayers go out to all involved 🙁

At least one of the other students is confirmed dead, but I’ve heard from some friends that the third boy (the one in critical condition) has died also.
I am so sad and confused by the whole thing.

@Miss Fish: I’m from Ohio, this hit so close to home with me this morning. My prayers go out to the students, the wounded, the shooter, and the families of all the students. So much has to happen for a child to reach that point, this breaks my heart.

I am originally from OH and proud of it. My heart ached when I saw this, I even teared up. Keeping you in my prayers.
