I just saw this on CNN.com. This type of thing just boggles my mind. I am certainly praying for these children and the people taking care of them. Just horrible.

i have family who lives about a half hour from there. he couldn't remember what town they were in.
i don't understand how someone could shoot up an elementary school filled with small children (or anywhere, really). it boggles my mind. i don't get it.

I'm completely horrified... so sick. I heard from the local news that children are injured, some may even be dead. There are no words to express the horror of this situation.
A good friend/co worker just told me about it. WTF is wrong with people? As was reading about it on my local tv station website. I also noticed there as a shooting at the gas station by my house this morning! OMG my DH and son were home at the time of the shooting.
So sad. I saw on CNN that it was the principal, school psychologist, and vice principal shot, but CNN has taken that down now. Wonder if they hadn't notified family yet.
Seriously WTF is wrong with ppl? This is just terrible, I'm in shock.
Can we please not turn this into a debate about gun laws? This is a tragic situation and it is totally inappropriate to use this situation as a platform for your political agenda. Thank you
I was away from my desk basically all morning in meetings. I came back now for lunch to my office and opened up the msn page. I actually started crying when I read that headline. wtf is wrong with people? I will just never understand.... lots of prayers for everyone involved in that horrible situation.
This is completely disgusting! My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected! I can't imagine what those parents/family members are going through right now.

As an elementary school teacher, my heart is breaking. I'm home sick today, but my little ones are in for some extra TLC when I return. :-(

Absolutely heartbreaking. I don't like reading that at least 10 children (per CNN) have been killed. =(
ETA: I see everyone is getting different numbers now. Guess it's a wait and see... Sigh...
MSN has at least 20 children were shot.. OMG I am just bawling over here...
Close to 20 people, including 10 children? Oh my goodness that is heartbreaking.
I feel like the world is becoming a scarier place every day :/ I really really hope no children were killed, and I am praying for the families of those adult victims :(
@MrsFuzzyFace: I disagree that mentioning gun control is using this "for a political agenda." As someone whose immediate family member was the victim of a shooting, I know one of my first thoughts is anger about how easy it is to get a gun.
Edit: Oh no, I am just seeing the reports of children dead. I am in tears.

@Kjeff760: You've definitely had a rought time in CO this year. :/ You just never think that things like this can happen where you live. And then they do. I feel sick just thinking about it.
This kind of stuff pisses me off... Those poor children! And the families of the ones who didn't make it! 
Such evil in the world. It's a scary place to live and bring children into, but keeping strong and spreading good will help fight the evil. Prayers for their families and classmates. So sad...those precious little ones.
@MrsFuzzyFace: it wasn't trying to start a politcal platform. I'm a teacher in a high school. I know how easy it is to get into a school building and how easy it is to get a gun.

My news just said the count of children is up to 18. And that there are 2 suspects. 1 dead and 1 taken away in cuffs. THERE WERE TWO. I cannot comprehend this.
I'm trying really hard not to cry. Wow. How does this? To kids! Ugh. :(
