I had a picture of a dress that I was just head over heels for. Nothing else i saw even came close. I knew I had to try that dress on and see if it worked or not. No bridal shop my area actually had the dress so they ordered a sample for me from the designer. I tried it on about 11 months before the wedding. I knew that if it looked awful, I would need a while to “mourn” and figure out what else to do 🙂 thankfully, it worked and I ordered it! It will take 6-8 months to come in so I’m glad I went so early.

Depends on the timing of year and the length of time designer needs to make one. Your salon will tell you when the last possible order date is so that you have time for two fittings before wedding as well.

I ordered mine 8 months….enough time to make sure it arrived on time, but not enough time to reconsider and order a new dress. Plus at that rate… you will be in the body probably closest to your figure on your wedding day so it may not have to be altered too much. If you buy a dress 2 years out…you may not even look the same on the day you get married.
