Weddingbee boards

Hi everyone:

I will be going to India for ~10 days in February.  I plan on getting all of my wedding clothes at that time.  I also need to buy clothes for my family, as no one will be able to go to India before our wedding.

So I have several questions.  1)  Are there any shops in Delhi and/or Mumbai you recommend?  I need to shop for everyone, so basically I need ~7 saris, ~9 lenghas, ~4 sherwanis, ~4 lenghas for young kids, and some other outfits for men.

2) Anyway, my fiance and I will be paying for the wedding, so we do not want to spend too much money.  I want to pay $7000 at most for all these clothes.  Is there a place where we can get AFFORDABLE yet quality clothes?

3)  I prefer to get everything in one place or in shops that are close to one another.  Is there anything you recommend?

4) I also need all the jewelry, shoes, etc. that come with the outfits.  Are there any places in particular that you recommend?

I am also going shopping in India, Mumbai to be exact, during the first week of January.

Where will you be staying in Mumbai? It is a huge city and you'd rather not have to spend over an hour getting to stores.

My family lives in Andheri East, Mumbai. I've been shopping at stores like Paaneri and Seasons. For really inexpensive shoes and costume jewelry, I would recommend going to the market at Nadco, which is near the Andheri East train station. My family and I have gotten tons of clothes from Paaneri, Seasons, and NADCO and we're happy with what we get for our money. A gorgeous sari might cost about $100+. My cousin got a gorgeous bridal reception lengha at Seasons for about $400.

I am trying to find a place that will have or be able to have 5 identical sets of one outfit because I need these for my bridesmaids, which I have heard is hard to find in India. If you find a place, let me know!

The shop you buy your wedding dress and other outfits from will be able to provide you with a few places you can buy all the accessories you need.  I do recommend not buy shoes from India as they are very hard and not easy to walk in.

Any place you ask about bridesmaid outfits can design something you want or show you samples of what you might like.  They can make a replica of pretty much anything as long as they have a picture.
