[comment moderated for personal attack] So, focus your energy into eating healthy and being proactive. In the mean time go to a store thats more average woman friendly.

@FutureMrsHallam:  okay. I completely get where you are coming from.I recently took my measurements and compared to bridal… I wear a size 8-10 street clothes but in bridal I am plus size  in face I fall in the bridal 18-20 range. Not good for my ego. I disagree with the previous poster. Feel beautiful, if you cannot learn to love yourself then it does not matter what size you are. Every bride looks beautiful, irregardless of the numbere on the tag.

And yeah, I know that hurts looking at these large numbers. The salespeople you encountered were far from kind. Please do not let it get to you.

@FutureMrsHallam:  I know what you mean :(. Dont let the stupid charts hurt too much. Easier said than done I know but keep looking hot without their stinking chart. I would suggest goig to the nearest “big” city. My town is not small either but if I want selection I have to go about 3 hrs. I also disagree with pp, you dont have to be smal to look good in clothes.  Im sure you are beautiful and rock being all curvacious!

I feel your pain!  I had a horrible experience wedding dress shopping at one of the stores I went to.  I’m not skinny, but not fat, I fall somewhere in the middle.  I think you’re probably like me and, in my opinion, its the hardest to dress!  Everything is either too small or too big, its really hard to find something that fits just right off the rack and looks lovely.

Ignore the previous poster.  As long as you are comfortable in your own skin that’s all that matters!  Everyone has the right to look and feel beautiful, and finding clothes to make you feel that way shouldn’t be so hard.  Keep looking, I’m sure you’ll find something amazing… and post a pic when you do, I’m sure everyone will tell you how lovely and happy you look.  🙂

@FutureMrsHallam:  Yeah I agree that is odd… maybe it is to make thw bride feel better in comparison? There are probably people out there who would be seriously happy that their bridesmaids had larger sizes. Personally, I think my maid of honour in particular will have a breakdown if that happen. I think I need to check the sizing charts before I accidentally subject her to the same thing you are going through.

Any chance you have access to a department store or online retailers for a dress? Just because it is wedding related does not mean it has to come from a wedding store

@FutureMrsHallam:  You definately dont have to be small to look good in clothes- look at Christina Hendricks, she’s not cookie cutter tiny but she’s gorgeous.

Girls are meant to go squish 🙂

@FutureMrsHallam:  Oh dear god. I cannot even fathom how awful that was. I will make sure to check before we go. Luckily enough a bridal and bridesmaid boutique that caters to plus size just opened. Hopefully the online reviews will be good because I do not want her being paraded around and commented on. Unless she is looking damn fierce, in which case they can parade all they want!

@FutureMrsHallam:  Great idea. The last thing I want is my sister/MOH to feel self conscious or awful. It is supposed to be a happy experience, and I am trying to best to make sure that it is positive for everyone.  Thank you!
