Hi 🙂 I’m 4’10” and 100 lbs. so I was very worried about this too. But it was pretty easy to find my dream dress, just go in with an idea of what you like but be open to suggestions.

i’m 5’1 and 95lbs – I think fit/flare or mermaid is nicest on short brides, these styles made me look tall! (I am wearing 3inchers in this pic tho)… not 100% sure this is MY dress yet, still looking as i’m over a year away from the wedding date lol

5’2″ I think the best fit would be the trumpet or mermaid for shorter brides in my opinion. I tried on a ballgown and such and felt like I was lost in it.

I’m 5’0 and about 180lbs…but my dress probably isn’t a great example because it’s a ballgown and not a lot of short people go for them. But I was NOT giving up my ballgown dreams just because I’m short. Nope.

Curvy 5’1-ish here.  I got a mermaid style dress.

I wouldn’t worry too much about a dress swallowing you.  If you don’t have a specific dress or silhouette in mind, your consultant will help pick something with the right proportions for you.

Ok, so I will admit that this picture is not of me :p …. I am 5’0 and 120lbs. I am planning on wearing heels but even if I dont this dress still makes me feel beautiful. 🙂

I’m 5’2″, 125lbs. I think the slimmer lined dresses would look better on a shorter bride – big poofy ballgowns could swamp you. I tried on one for hilarity’s sake, and it was HUGE. I totally couldn’t figure out where my feet were in relation to me, lol, or where the dress ended.

I’m 4’11”, 100 lbs. Slim A lines and some fit-and-flares worked well for me.

nuggetsoflove:  oh my I LOVE your dress!

I am also 5 feet tall. What type of gown is this? It looks so light and ethereal!

Monk6552:  Thank you! It’s by Romona Keveza, and is SO light and airy- the material is silk chiffon. It was such a refreshing contrast to all the heavy gowns I kept trying on.

I’m not sure if I count as short. I usually feel short! I’m 5′ 3.5″ and I agree with the bee who said mermaids flatter shorter figures. I felt ballgowns swallowed me. I’m on the pedastal in this pic FYI.

I wore a tea length. I’m 4’11 and about 120 lbs. I can’t upload the picture now because I’m on my tablet, but I will when I get home.
