You could always fine thin clear headbands to secure (stitch) to it that you could then use to create a form of stability for it. Also you might be able to find a thin headband that would match your hair color to blend.
I hope you are able to find a solution that works, the tradition is so sweet.
This might help give you some ideas...it applies to a veil but some sort of configuration like this with bobby pins instead of a comb might work.

BaghdadBrinde, thank you!! That is the most helpful advice I've seen yet, and I definitely think it might work.
For those who are interested, the tradition behind the Norwegian crown is as follows:
"The bride will wear a silver or silver and gold crown. Dangling around the crown will be small spoon-shaped bangles. When the bride moves her head the bangles produce a melodic tinkling music. Norwegian tradition holds that the music from the bride’s bangles will ward off evil spirits. During the wedding reception after the wedding the bride will dance vigorously, the tinkling melody of the bangles will scare off the evil spirits which try to inhabit the happy bride."
Just wanted to update and say a huge thank you to BaghdadBride for your suggestion - I did a test run this weekend and it worked really well! Very secure. You are awesome!

Hello all--I have enjoyed reading Weddingbee over the past several months and finally decided to post a dilemma of my own to see if you can help!
I usually wear my hair in a chin-length bob much like this one: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art12224.asp
But I would really like to wear a traditional Norwegian crown at my wedding: http://www.ingebretsens.com/details.php?prodID=845
The tiny crown (3.5" diameter at the base) is obviously designed for use with an updo. While my hair is currently long enough to do an updo, I really don't want one (it's driving me nuts so long and I can't wait to cut it). I'd much rather wear my natural style.
But my very fine hair is proving tricky--how can I get the crown to stay in my hair? I've thought about "stitching" a comb or something to it, but even that I'm not sure would stay.
And I'm renting the crown, as buying it would cost nore than my dress. So I can't alter or damage the crown in any way (not that I'd want to, really).
So... any ideas? Thanks a million!
