@Footballwife:  We’re having a short honeymoon: either 3 or 4 nights. It just can’t be helped as we can’t take the time off work. I am disappointed, but FI and I have done a fair bit of travelling in the past, so I shouldn’t bee too selfish/entitled 🙂

@Footballwife:  We had a short honeymoon right after the wedding.  We went to a nearby resort area from Sunday evening to Wednesday (wedding was on Saturday).

But, we just got back from a 4 week holiday in New Zealand, which we counted as our honeymoon.  We just couldn’t get the time off work in the summer, plus waiting the extra months gave us more time to save and plan.

You’ll have a great time with the days you have.  Anything is better than no days.  You’ll probably be ready for the nice break.

Flew out on Monday, came back on Saturday.  It was nice, but the next time we go (we went to Hawaii), I’d like to stay a bit longer.

@Footballwife:  We went to Vegas on our Honeymoon. We got married on Sat. Flew out Sunday and came home Fri. I dont consider that a short Honeymoon, I think that is kinda average.

We’re going Tuesday-Monday. We have unlimited vacation time as I’m a student and he’s an independent contractor, but 6 nights is more than enough time being away from home!

@Footballwife:  We’re planning to fly Japan to Palau (beachy island chain near the Philippines), about a 5-hour flight. Luckily it’s quite quick to get out the country for us!

Were going to New Orleans as well for our honeymoon and will only be there from Sunday to Thursday. At first I was a little disappointed about not being able to stay longer, I just started a new job and will only have 4 vacation days by wedding time, but we decided to make it a positive. At least were getting out of state and getting some time together. And we’ve already started saving towards a 10 day cruise for our one year anniversary! So you may not get exactly what u want now, but think about the future!!

We were lucky to be able to take a two-week honeymoon, so I can’t speak from personal experience. But I know several people who have done honeymoons like what you describe, and they loved their trips! One of my friends in particular only had a couple of days, so they did a quick trip to Charleston and had a great time. You can always save for a longer/international trip later.

And I agree with @KoiKove about a week being pretty normal and not overly short at all! Several of my friends who have gotten married recently have done weeklong honeymoons, either domestically or to the Caribbean, and had wonderful times.
