Yes.  My first cycle off BCPs had a short LP both times I have done it.

Since you just got off BCP, I would not worry this early if I was you. Each woman is different, but it typically takes a few cycles to regulate. I’m on my 5th cycle off BCP and it is taking my LP and CM a while to get back to normal. My first cycle the LP was only 8 days, however it has improved since then. I’ve been taking prenatals and vitamin b6, so maybe that is helping too. Just give it a few cycles to see if they get longer before worrying. Good luck!

I had this same problem.  But mine continued to be short for 10 months after getting off BC. i eventually started taking a strong B complex vitamin (with 100 mg B6) for the second half of my cycle which really helped.  It lengthened my cycle by 2 days the first month, then we got our BFP the next month.  So maybe if yours doesn’t even out by the time you are TTC that might help.   Otherwise there are progesterone supplements / creams that are supposed to work.  It’s good that you are charting now.  that way you have evidence to bring up to your doctor and might be able to get help sooner if there is a problem. But it’s probably just because your cycles haven’t normalized yet.

I had a short LP, after a couple of months I began to take a Vitamin B6 supplement to help lengthen it. It went from 7 days to 9 days to.. well right now I’m pregnant.

Good luck!

You need to track for a few months (or longer preferably) to see the full picture. My first two months of tracking were all over the place, long cycles then very short LP. After tracking for 6 months I can now see that my LP is 11 days (not ideal but still ok) with an average 28 day cycle.

I had a very short LP for my first 2 months off BCP (<9 days). My 3rd month off BCP, I didn’t O until CD23 (AF typically comes on CD29) so that would have meant only a 6 day LP…..but AF still hasn’t come and I got my BFP 11DPO! Proof that a short LP won’t keep you from conceiving!

This is my second month off BP and I’m trying to figure all this out too.  Should I be taking B supplements?  I never heard of that before.  Thanks!

My LP was on the shorter side after stopping the pill as well. After a few months, I started taking a B Complex and I got pregnant that cycle so either the B Complex really helped or my LP wasn’t a problem to begin with.

Give it a few months for your cycle to settle into it’s norm.  It’s very usual for your cycles to be off after coming off of BC.

I started with a 10 day LP. I know have a 11-12 day LP. Seems to be increasing the longer I am off BC. This is our 8th cycle. I have been off BC since June.

I had a short LP for 3-4 cycles after coming off BCP. I took B6 and it helped.
