I was just reading about how one girl is having a crazy long walk down the aisle and to be honest… I got kinda jealous! I ADORE our venue and couldn’t have asked for a bettwe space except, well, everybody will see be before I walk in because the walls are doors are glass and the walk down the aisle will be short… like if I make it last 10 seconds I will be lucky! (and have probably walked rediculously slow) I had always pictured this really long walk down the aisle where people would be admiring me in my overpriced but gorgeous wedding dress. Anybody else have a crazy short walk down the aisle? How do you feel about it?

Mine will be pretty short. Maybe 15 yards TOPS.

my aisle is also pretty short, plus i will also be entering through a pair of glass doors from an atrium in the house…i guess i’ll be hugging the wall around the corner until it’s time for me to come in! honestly i hadn’t thought much about it before just now though….it’s probably a good thing, since i’m not a huge fan of having all eyes on me. and less room for me to trip 🙂

I will have a short walk. Our church is really tiny, only 9 rows of pews. Honestly, I am kind of happy about it, I really don’t want people staring at me for a long time!

Super short walk in our teeny tiny church, but I’m perfectly fine with that. I know if it were a long walk I’d probably start running toward FI to hurry up and get to him so the shorter walk makes me less likely to make a spectacle of myself

mine is short. relatively small church ilse. its an adorable church but its gonna be a little odd b/c it doesnt have a “center” isle. It has two large isles so im gonna pick one and go down it i guess haha. I saw that other girls post about the long walk. WOW its a beautiful place to get married regardless of how far shes walking! ide totally walk that far if it ment i could get married there

MIne is short too, probably 15 seconds as well

@kfricke89: Mine is short…very short. We’re only having 7 rows in our space so it’s not going to take me long to get there. I don’t really have a problem with it or have given it much thought. As I’m standing at the altar they’ll have more time to admire my gorgeous wedding gown 😉

I had a garden wedding, so people could see me coming a long way away before I got anywhere near the actual ceremony area.
I kind of feel like I missed out on the moment the doors opened, and I’m just THERE, but it worked out all right.

Mine was short b/c we don’t really walk down the aisle to start. I’m Orthodox, so we just basically walk through the vestibule into the back of the church. We are given away back there, exchange rings and then procede together as a couple into the center of the church.
I’m kind of glad I didn’t have that long walk. I would have been terrified. I was shaking like a leaf as it was!

32 feet at my venue, but I do get to come down a great set of stairs first. Are you walking alone or with someone. To lengthen it, you could strategically seat certain people along the way and stop and greet them. Kind of grab their hands and kiss cheeks. Just a thought.

Mine was really short. The church was shallow but really wide, so it was ‘grande’ by being really big but the aisle was short. There was also a holy water thing (I don’t know what they’re called) at the beginning of the aisle we all had to walk around.

Mine will be short too! I measured to figure out how long of an aisle runner I needed: 20 feet!! But the way the venue is set up, I will be walking in near the front of the room, around and to the back where I will make the official walk down the aisle.
