So I have been scowering the internet and the boards on weddingbee as well as many other sites for brides with short hair styles. Everything that I have come across for short hair so far… I do not consider to be actually short styles. It seems that everyone is in agreeance that shoulder length hair is short. Umm… I don’t think so. I’m not trying to step on anyones toes here but when did shoulder length and midneck length become “short” hair styles? My hair is quite short. I have very fine hair that reaches to the top of my ear on one side and then i’m trying to grow out the other side…so the front section JUST reached the bottom of my jaw. I’ve included a pic to give you an idea of my current hair length.. or at least its close to getting there :o) My goal is to keep growing the one side out… basically to the same length that is shown in this picture. I just wanted tofind out what other brides, with truly short hair, did for their wedding day.

Oh, it would look so cute flipped out! Especially if you have layers!

*and i am totally with you on the “shoulder length hair is not short” thing 😉

I’m glad that I am not the only one who shares my view on short length

that picture you posted? That’s MY haircut!
I’ve been going back and forth about growing it out into a bob for the wedding because I can’t find ANYTHING online about fancy hair dos for short hair.
and I’m with BellaMargot – shoulder length isn’t short! Anything below the chin isn’t short.
Do you girls have fine or coarse, thick or thin hair? Mine is fine and thin (why I cut it short… it just hung there otherwise – gross!) and totally doesn’t hold any kind of curl. I think I may have to be a headband bride… not sure how I feel about that.
If you find anything, please share it with us!

Okay I’ve been looking for pics online for truly short hairstyle ideas for us and as we all know, there isn’t much out there. These are some pics that I found though that aren’t too bad. I really love sienna Miller and Rihana’s hairstyles and I think by simply adding a gorgeous hairpin or flower (or whatever else you may have in mind) it could transform our short hairsyles for our wedding days.
**daydreamwanderer** My hair is very fine but i have lots of it. I always have to have my hair dresser texturize it . Though short hair can be relatively easy to style, I have to do my hair every day…there is not wash and go for me. I end up putting lots of product in my hair in order to give it something you know…volume, more texture etc. If i were to simply bow dry my hair it would be very very flat and just hang there as well. Yuck is right!

Makes no sense to me at all when I see shoulder length hair listed as short because it definitely is not. Even my sister who used to be a hairdresser agrees. That said, take a look at the movie “Someone Like You” during the NYE party scene where Ashley Judd has very short hair the same length as the model in your original post and for that scene she has a cute “updo” that I never would have imagined could be done with hair that short. That may be an option for you.

love the inspiration pics, especially with the clip
I completely agree about short hair – mine is short and fine too – I have to use masses of product as well!
I use clips etc. already all the time, and I plan to use some for the wedding too, though I also want to try on some birdcage veils to see what they are like, along with some fascinators/hairflowers to see if they work

Good luck! I can’t wait to chop my tresses off after the big day!

Thank you for posting these!! My hairdress convinced me to grow it out a couple inches and it’s reached below my chin (long!). I just had my hair trial and it went AWFUL!! I am to the point where I either grow it out long enough to put up or cut it. I just adore these pics…might be on my way to cutting it!!

@ellebeaux — why wait!? chop chop chop!

@daydream–well, my wedding is in 3 days! I’ve already got the hair thing all planned! I’ve had it long for a couple of years and kept it that way when I got engaged, for the styling options, and I’m ready for a change!

How about having a lovely organza fascinator? That would be so pretty!

@ellebeaux – yeah, okay, I suppose…
you’re gonna LOVE going short though. I don’t think I’ll ever go past chin length again. I did cry the first time I washed it though (I cut off about 8-10 inches) – “Where is all my hair!?!”
