I have heard that short/petite moms to be tend to look pregnant quicker.  Has this been your experience?

I'm just about 10 weeks and have been using bellaband or maternity pants for the last two weeks.  I feel like I look "pregnant." I'm a small person (5'2, 110 lbs) and normally have a flat stomach.   The past few weeks, I have what looks like a bump of at least 4 months!   I know that bloat is really common this early, so was convinced this was bloat and would go away.  But my husband (and a few close friends consulted) agree that I actually look pregnant.   I can suck it in a little, but not much. Even if I do suck in, there's still a bulge.  I don't fit into any of my pants, either.  Bellaband or maternity jeans.  As of my doctor's appt last week, I had gained 2 lbs.

I feel like this is impossible! Has anyone else shown early? Or, do we think this is just INSANE bloat.

I'm not pregnant but my best friend is about 5'2" and she was showing a little by 10 weeks…I could definitely notice a bump!

I was wondering the same thing.

I'm about your size (5'2 and started at 106, but now 111).  I am a little over 12 weeks and I feel like I am showing.  My sister and husband have made comments.  I keep telling them I am just bloated...I've been bloated since week 4!  I plan on going to buy some maternity pants this weekend instead of just wearing my pants undone with long shirts :)  It is just getting too uncomfortable even with them undone!

    I'm 5'5" and 115lbs.

I'm currently nearing the end of my 13th week. My husband and I can notice and certain days depending on what I'm wearing there's a slight bump that I fear others may notice. But not enough.

Funny part about this is that, for me anyways, the bump comes before the weight!  We just have less room in there than taller ladies, so baby has no choice but to grow OUT!  I am also just under 5'2" and I started showing at about 13-14 weeks.  Now at 16 weeks, I have quite a bump, but only 3 lbs of weight gain.  So odd.

ETA, I got my first pair of maternity pants yesterday!

Thanks for these responses!  I can't decide whether this is just bloat or not.  Either way, the pants don't fit and I LOOK like I have a bump.  I have gained 2 lbs and don't think I've gained anywhere else but my tummy.

PS - Maternity pants are SO MUCH more comfortable than regular pants or even the bella band!

I was very bloated in the beginning up to 12 weeks.  Nobody noticed I was pregnant until 20 weeks, and at 23 it was very noticeable.

Hubby and I could see the bloat/bump from 12 weeks on, I could also feel my uterus at 9 weeks and it was incredibly odd feeling!

By the end I was huge, she had nowhere to go but out!  I'm 4'11" and normal pp weight is around 95lbs, I gained 33lbs and have lost almost all of it.

I'm 5'2" and a size 2/4. I'm 16wks3days and I swear my belly is different every single day. Somedays I can't button my pants and have to use the bella band, and then I have days like yesterday where I can wear my "skinny day" jeans buttoned up with no problem. That leads me to believe my "bump" is bloat. Boo! I want a bump, damnit! Haha my mom said she'll remind me I said that when I'm 42 weeks along and pregnant from my chin to my knees ;-)

I am 5'2" and I had to start wearing maternity clothes as soon as the line on the test turned blue.  (A bit of an exaggeration, but not much)

I'm on the smaller side, 5'3" & size 2 and felt suuuuper bloated from the very beginning. Looking back on the photos I took at 14, 20 weeks - I wasn't really "showing" like obvious baby bump but there was a belly where I used to have abs. Now my gigantic 33 week belly has dwarfed the rest of my body.

I'm 5'3", size 4, and I really didn't start showing till 5 mos, didn't look pregnant or start wearing maternity clothes till about 7 mos.  I think it also depends on your individual body type, I think I have a long torso and short legs and a smaller waist pre-pregnancy.

@winniewolf:I'm 5' and started at 108... so at 5' and now 113 I swear I'm not showing at 11 weeks. Hubby says I am.  I posted a pic in the May babies thread.

I started wearing maternity pants mid week 9. Could have (should have) started at 9 weeks 0 days. I feel like I show less now that my pants fit!

On the otherhand.... my boobs are sure as **** "showing!"  (From enormous to "who did those for you?")

I'll have to post a pic tonight so you can see what I'm talking about.  I just texted my best friend a picture (with a shirt on) and her response was "oh my!!"

I'm shy of 18 weeks and still have the disappearing bump going on! Hubby and I notice my little bump but friends and family keep asking where it's at. I know it will be here to stay soon! I'm 5'3" and weigh 123 lbs right now. I think muscle tone has a lot to do with "showing".

Any other ladies care to chime in?

At 11 weeks, I can tell the difference in myself, but I am definitely NOT "showing" in any way that someone other that my hubby would notice. Saw my Dad this weekend and he did not notice (and he knows).

With my first I didn't have a real belly until 15-ish weeks; and it wasn't until 25+ weeks that I showed enough to get comments.

With this one, I could tell I had a baby bump by 6 weeks; and when I started telling everyone at 11 weeks, my co-workers all said they had noticed a month or two before.  :/

I'm 5'1" , for the record, and normally around 120.
