I am just searching through blogs and looking at cute poses that I like.

I wanted to make sure I get lots of detail shots since I probably won’t remember what the menu cards look like on the tables, etc.

Aside from the usual people shots, I’d ask for…

  • Reception Details, for sure (I’d even list out each thing specifically so nothing is missed).
  • Outside of the venue/surroundings (to set the scene in the album)
  • Close ups of our rings
  • My dress on the hanger (I even got a special hanger specifically for this shot!)
  • My shoes!

I’m not giving my photog one.  She’s been doing weddings for enough time now that I trust her to get everything we need.

If you’ve hired a professional wedding photographer, I would trust that she knows what she’s doing and defer to her professional judgment on this.  My photographers invited us to submit a list of shots, but we chose to give them complete creative control.

I guess part of me is afraid they’ll miss some great unplanned moment if they are too busy checking and re-checking what they’re doing against a list.
