Looks like we exhausted this topic and also discussed our thoughts on the rules.  Now that this is behind us, along with yesterday's drama should BEEM get a second chance or does she deserve to be banned forever.  This is in no way polling to see if you feel she was wrongly banned.  Whatever she did or was acused of doing would have to be discussed with the mods to their satisfaction.  But if that can be sorted out, are we willing to give her another chance?  Please vote.

From what I understand, bannings are final. Time to drop it and move on with your life.

No amount of us voting will reinstate a banned member.  We saw this with previous incidents.

    Definitely time to move on.

i saw this thread and kind of knew that there would be comments like "time to move on".  But it seems people are voting anyway.  I voted yes, simply because this is a wedding website and i never understand why there is so much drama and in general, i think most people deserve a second chance.  Especially over something as innocuous as posting on here.   BUT, i don't see it happening - simply because of the outrage it would cause in an effort to give all previous banned bees a chance to come back.....and yes, there is one i am thinking of in particular   ;)

PurpleUnicorn I think you and I are thinking of the same bee. I was about to say, if they allowed beeM to come back there would be a huge outcry to unban that particular bee. I still miss her posts around here.

She was given numerous warnings. So she had a second and third chance already.  I'm sorry but we've made the decision we made to protect the members of the site.

We're not going to reverse our decision.

Better question, does she want to come back after being treated like that?

Are you related to this BeeM person, or something?  Because you're wayy too concerned with their involvement in this site.  Let it go!  It is site policy that if someone gets banned, they're gone for good.  It wouldn't be fair to others to bring one person back after they received several warnings and persisted with rule violations.

@PurpleUnicorn: this. Yes, I don't think she should have been banned. There are other posters who offend/annoy much more often than BeeM ever did and they are still here. I do think she went too far in her comments, but think she would have changed her tone if she came back. But then we should allow other banned Bees to come back as well. I will sincerely miss her input.

But I truly don't think posting threads like this do anything to help. If we let BeeM back, then there is a whole list of others who should be allowed a second chance as well.

@Pinksapphire: I was wondering the same thing. Up until yesterday I thought that the OP and beeM were the same person. User876 seems to be taking this banning way too personally.

I’ll echo the PP’s with “it’s time to move on”.

ETA: Whether or not beeM should have been banned is not for me to decide. I did see a number of her posts and I do agree that they were on the snarky side. She and I got into it a few days ago but prior to that, I hadn’t even heard of her (I don’t spend a lot of time on the photo board, though). I do find it strange that she managed to get banned but some very aggressive and downright hurtful posters are still able to roam free.

@UpstateCait: I can vouch and say they are not the same person. I feel USER is truly upset, just as others were very very upset over another popular Bee being banned recently.

PS, know you got married recently and I haven't been around, so congrats. Sorry for the O/T.

I don't think User is at fault for caring that BeeM got banned. I think he doesn't agree with why she got banned and those reasons could impact other pros on here.   Also, remember when Miss Tattoo (yes i said her name) got banned? there were multiple threads discussing it for over a week.

I dont care whether or not BeeM comes back but I dont see how this is any different from when Tattoo was banned and people were outraged.  User, do what you gotta do.  ::shrug:::

@Aubergold: My sister, I'm sayin' I mean, come on, I remember when other posters have been banned and there were multiple threads. It didn't do any good but there were multiple threads so I don't understand why folks are wondering about USER's motives Undecided Anyhow, I voted, I would give her a second chance but I doubt the mods will let that happen. I've been on these boards over a year and I've never seen a banned bee invited back.

@Aubergold:  I honestly don't have a vested interest either way.  I know it wouldn't be unturned, I was just trying to poll the crowd and see how people felt.  I don't think there is anything wrong with that.

I figure if someone gets multiple warnings and doesn't become more careful with their posts, then there's not much more to say.  And I definitely agree that unbanning one person would open up a can of worms (especially when those people are missed by more than a handful of people).  It sure doesn't look like the rules will be changing anytime soon, so whether she deserves a second chance or not is kind of beside the point.

Do you think that banned bees ever come back under new names and just never tell anyone?  I don't mean when BeeM tried to post under different names today, I mean like coming back and creating a whole new persona.  Hmm.  Well, I'm off topic now so I'll stop typing.  Sorry about your friend, USER876!

@AnneTossy:  She wasn't my friend.  I don't know who BEEM is, I don't even know her name or if he is a she.   By vested interest I mean whether she is invited back.  Do I agree with the rules, most of which got her banned due to  self promotion?  No.  If she was unbanned it would be because the rules were changed and it was decided the reason was unwarranted, not because of a second chance, so there wouldn't be any uproar.  I started this to see what people's tone was on the subject, and it is crystal clear.

There are many pro's that PMed me with similiar thoughts over this, no one except Blu and one or two others really spoke out yet though.  I don't mind speaking up for everyone and taking the heat, I have a thick skin.  Although none of this, or anyones response really upsets me, I asked and you answered, and there is nothing wrong with that.  You have an opinion and deserve to have it heard.  I am just clarifying things that were asked/questioned.

This will be my last post on the subject.  If anyone has any other questions or comments directed at me, that you want to be sure I see, use the PM.

@USER876:  Im on your side, I really am in this instance.  if you want her to come back you should be able to start threads about it and ask people.  Other people do it ALL the time.  that's what I meant by do what you gotta do.

@HueysLuda: MRS. Tattoo was banned over STUPID reasons...im not sure what happend to BeeM...but i do know that they MODS have WAY too mcuh control on this sight....and some of them let it get to there heads. This is a community...when bees get banned or warned we should all have a say...not just a select few.

Theses banning are happening more and more, we should be able to post about our weddings, babies...or opinions without fearing that we are going to log on and see that we are banned one day.

Really, guys? Are we seriously rehashing the MT dramz?

Banned members are banned for a reason. The mods don't do it lightly and they don't do it just because they don't like someone. Let's remember that the mod team is all volunteers. They spend their free time dealing with all the BS and drama around here. Let's give them a break and just drop it already. They already caught enough crap over it the first time.

I have been a member of this site for 2 years. In that time, I have expressed my opinion openly and never had a warning or a PM from a mod saying I was going too far with something or anything of that sort. The fear-mongering with the "OMG! I can't post anything or else the mods are going to bring down the banhammer on me!" crap has got to stop. You aren't going to just wake up one day and be banned for no reason.

I wasn't even going to comment but this is getting redonkulous.

i do have to admit, i find it (interesting/funny/not quite sure the word i am looking for) that this thread is slowly becoming about how unfair it was that Miss Tattoo was banned!  I think she will go down in history as the most popular bee   :)

@zippylef: Obviously Miss Tattoo was quite popular and apparently some Bees missed the fact that she is gone and the ensuing events. Why is it wrong of them to be asking what happened?
I appreciate what the mods do as well, but let's not forget that they choose to be mods and spend their free time on here (just as I make that same choice to be a part of this community). They can un-make that decision at any time if they get sick of dealing with us. And some days, I wouldn't blame them if they did!

@PurpleUnicorn: not sure how that happened either! She's the zombie topic - never dead! They should just put a sticky at the top with a running list of banned Bees. Then everyone would know. Lol, cause that wouldn't cause problems at all, I bet.

@zippylef: Well said about why and how people get banned.  It's not arbitrary.

I had one warning once for snark and even though I'd seen posts equally snarky IN THE SAME THREAD and think my comment was definitely misunderstood to an extent, I took it very seriously and make sure that if I'm in a bad mood or someone is frustrating me or being unfair, I just close the window and move on instead of posting.  We're responsible for our own internet destinies here, ladies.

@hisgoosiegirl: Obviously, this community wouldn't be what it is without the mod team that we have. Remember that. They keep the Hive from becoming the drama-filled bitchfest that a lot of other forums are. We'd be in a sorry state if they all up and left.

    @Juliepants: Thank you.

It's really not hard to get along around here. Just be respectful and follow the golden rule. And with that little tidbit, I'm out. I just don't have the time and energy for the drama.

@zippylef: I'm on other forums where the mods are pretty much non-existent. They go through cycles of good and bad but for the most part everyone does a pretty good job of ignoring posters they dislike (they actually have an ignore button that they can hide any poster they don't wish to see) and self-moderating (which I believe is what Mrs. DG has asked of us multiple times).

So again, I appreciate what the mods do, and I'm glad we have them,  but I don't think we'd completely fall into anarchy without them. It'd be different, but the community would adapt to the change.

And I don't think anyone is getting hurt by asking about MT - they can go dig up the threads if they want and if they have questions or concerns, they can PM the mods. Telling them they don't need to discuss it tends to cause the opposite.
