Hey everyone. With all of this wedding planning, I am ready to pull my hair out. The groomsmen are wearing a black tux with an apple red vest and tie. I was thinking about having my BMs match them, but I can’t seem to find a dress that matches the apple red color. So I was thinking maybe they could wear a black dress with an ivory sash. Our wedding colors are black, white, and red. My dress is ivory and so is the groom and groomsmens’ shirts so I figured the ivory sash would match perfectly. Ugh I’m so undecided….. advice please 🙂

witty.screenname: Our GMs wore Charcoal Grey Tuxes (Black by Vera Wang) with Grey Vest and Black Ties and purple socks. The girls wore black lace dresses with purple shoes.
I think that the 2 should coordinate, I don’t think they need to match (i’m personally not a fan of dresses matching vests – I know a lot of people do it, it’s just not for me). I think your BMs should wear whatever they’ll be comfortable in and give you the look you want. It sounds to me like you’re not that picky about it. Black dresses sound great. If you want to coordinate, try a red sash, or red shoes – even red flowers will tie them to the groomsmen!

It sounds like they’ll be coordinated with the wedding in general, so I don’t think anyone will notice that they don’t exactly match the vests! I wouldn’t stress 🙂

Our bridesmaids wore pink dressea and our groomsmen wore ivory, black, and gray. I think when they all match it looks a bit like the prom so I think your idea is fine!

I would avoid matching the vests, ties and dresses at all costs. Ditto with sashes. Grown women don’t wear sashes on their dresses at any other time, yet it is seen as a solution when it comes to weddings.
A black dress is always sophisticated and you can kick it up a notch with killer red pumps.

The sash on my white dress is malibu blue…the groomsmen aren’t wearing vests–their shirts will be the same blue with their black suits–not sure on the ties yet…my bm’s are wearing black dresses and I’m letting them choose the accent of their choice with that blue–whether they want to do a sash, just have the black white and blue bouquet, a flower pin, etc. Their black dresses won’t all be the same either–I’ve got older and younger bms and different body types. So I want the colors to be the same but the styles to be different to match their own
