I read an interesting review that was posted in another forum and thought some of you might be interested.
I’m in the trying…but not charting school but have got a period app on my phone to predict when AF is due based on averages from previous cycles. It also predicts most fertile based on the ‘around 12 days before next cycle’ theory.
The article above says that is rubbish and if you want to make a baby you should just try to have sex three times a week….or every 2-3 days as the NHS suggestes.
Of course this is preeching to the converted with all you charters who know it all already 🙂 but it was interesting to me, dosent make me want to chart…..just justifies jumping on Mr Lillis every other night. 😉
Still, my little app is still quite useful for planning holidays withouth AF joining in.

I have read a ton of stories of women who were having sex during what they thought was the fertile window based on an app like you are talking about and once they started charting, realized they were completely missing the mark. If charting is not your thing, I think just having more sex, more often and not stopping when you think you’ve ovulated is a good way to go!

jny1179: ditto! If I didn’t chart, who knows how long it would take me to get pregnant. I have typically 27-32 day cycles but can ovulate anywhere from CD 14 to 19!
If you’re not into charting, DTD every 2-3 days!

don’t know how your app could accurately predict 12 days before the next cycle. in the last 3 cycles, i’ve ovulated on the 11th, 14th, and 16th day.
my LP is consistant at 12 days but i would never know when that 12 days would start..
but yes, having sex at least every 2 days should theoretically get one pregnant.

I myself thought for sure I was ovulating around CD 14 or 15, first month charting I O’d on CD 13.

I proved my app wrong! I am now ovulating anywhere from CD 21-30
