Im Joan, 42, 2 kids (one has flown the coup and the other strutting around like a peacock that is above the dishes) Im 25 years happily divorced with a great ex hubby whom is a friend and a decent dad, and been with my FINALLY found one and only for near 3 years, living together officially for a year now.
Nice to meet you all kiss kiss mwa mwa xox
Now, I’d always thought that I’d settle down and get hitched before the big ’40’ but the bloody thing came and went without consulting me first and we weren’t together long enough.
BUT!! lately my one and only has been making weddingish noises without my prompting (kudo’s to me) but then we made some major plans to move to other side of oz to work, rent our home out, ruffle the peacocks feathers and spend a fortune on a caravan. So I put it all out of my mind.
THEN a few nights ago when our besties were over moaning about how they weren’t invited to their friends wedding, my fella pipes up with
“well you’ll definitely be invited to ours”..
friend says “what??? when??”
my fella “Oh before we leave”
where was I when I was asked? when are we leaving? SEPTEMBER this YEAR!!!
anything else said? no. Im too confused to compute after that!
Cheeky bugger, is he weaseling out of proposing and easing into it? he’s already established with me that we both want for our wedding so Ive been expecting it.
and by the way, WHERES MY BLOODY RING THEN??

Welcome! Mwah Mwah kiss kiss.
Sneaky sneaky, you can’t just get out of proposing! ha ha. I would be like, ummm buddy, look, if you expect to marry me before we leave in September, you may have to ummm ASK ME?! Ha ha.
Sounds like you need to chat. Good luck. Keep us posted! 🙂

I think its coming soon. There was a story on tv recently about how hard it is to tell a natural diamond from a man made diamond and he was absolutley livid, raged about it in fact.
Over the top even.
More comments to his mates over the weekend about how we may as well be married because we’re so close.
If I wasnt such a romantic fool, I would ask him, but sadly, Im one of those girls who’s happily fantasizing about how he’s going to do it.

@undercoverjoan: Welcome here, another 40 something!
Men over 40 are mysterious, they know they don’t have to rush and keep us waiting forever like older girls don’t need rings that badly…..

@tisposeroperche: EXACTLY my thoughts!!! He’s just gone and spent $50 + k on our new caravan in preparation for our trip though so now Im wondering if the big Q is on the backburner for him…
He’d want to get shake on, we are throwing a bon voyage in late August and it makes sense to get hitched then.

I was designated driver for the boys last weekend and after a few beveridges, one of SO’s besties was on his high horse telling SO that he wants to find a girl like me gush gush (blush), SO responds with “I know, thats why Im going to …” stops when other mate beside him kicks him in the shin.
What? WHAT?? WHEN???
Aaaargh!!! I HATE not knowing whats up his sleeve!
On the other hand, loving the anticipation!
