About a month or a month and a half ago, my husband and I had sex without a condom, which we’ve never done before or since. I am on the pill, have been for six years, and never miss a dose/take it late, etc but we are parnoid about pregnancy and always double up on protection. I’m on the pill continiousy and don’t take the inactive pills, so I never have a period. This week, out of no where, I get a period (it’s light though), bad cramps, upset stomach, and food adversions. I know that spotting and cramping can be a sign of early pregnancy, so now I’m completely worried about being pregnant. Do I really have anything to worry about? Part of me feels like there’s no way and part of me is so worried. I’m going to buy a pregnancy test, but I have to wait til I get paid on Friday (which is why I’m worried about pregnancy-I can’t afford a kid).
Anyone have any experiences with this? Part of me is wondering if these are just period syptoms that I forgot about because I haven’t had one in years.

A test is the onu way to find out. In sure you’re fine. I was on the pill or 9 years never use back up protection and never got pregnant. It’s possible but highly unlikely.

@newlywed11: I was on the pill for years and years and never used condoms when I was in a relationship and the guy never pulled out. You are 99% not pregnant!

Yeah, I mean…it’s possible…but it’s only like a .001% chance. I’m on the pill, we don’t use condoms and he doesn’t pull out, and I have not gotten pregnant after 3 years of doing this. I wouldn’t worry 🙂

@newlywed11: it could also be from breakthrough bleeding – you can get that sometimes when you take your pills constantly with no period.

@Miss_Magoo82: +1 but the only way to know for sure is to test.

Have you had any lifestyle changes (stress, travel, weight gain)?
Were you taking antibiotics?
If the answer is “no” to these two questions, then 99.5% no, you’re not pregnant.
