Would any of the girls balk at not having a say in the dress?

Personally, I’ll wear puke green if the bride asks me to, but I’ve read enough on WB to know that there are some pretty high maintenance bridesmaids. I think getting vintage dresses is fantastic!! (Wish I had thought of that!)

Personally, I wouldn’t like anyone buying clothes for me.  I wear different sizes in different stores, so I’d like to see a size chart to compare my actual measurements.  I would show them the one you like, and ask for their sizes, and then if anyone says they don’t like it, give them your alternative.

I’m drooling over that dress. That store has some really pretty pieces- think you should go for it. And if they complain, then they have to buy a dress.

I don’t think it is bad taste at all since you are gifting them the dresses. I don’t think it’s appropriate to not allow BMs to have a say if they are paying, but ,since that’s not the case, I think it’s a great idea.

I’ve been given my bridesmaid’s dress by the bride, and I gave my one attendant her dress – just bought it and sent it to her. I think it’s fine (but @abbie017 makes a very good point that sizes can vary, so be sure to err on the side of larger in case the dresses need to be taken in).

I think if you are paying you can purchase whatever you want. Be careful with sizing and order larger to be on the safe side. Also be sure that your girls are comfortable wearing such sheer dresses- in the example- a nightgown.

As an aside, you are aware that thses are not vintage dresses, aren’t you? She even says they are her latest designs.

I think that dress is a nightgown. The top is see through. If you look at the picture of the top of the dress, you can see her fingers through it. Also, it says that in the description. Just an FYI.
