@Honeybunch:  I’m inclined to agree with your Mother. You could get a Maggie dress new for a lot less. Have you tried any on? The Primrose looks remarkably similiar and its more affordable:

@Honeybunch:  Nope, I wouldnt pay that much for that fraying, possibly too short and possibly the wrong colour. Steaming may help with the defninition and the colour I suppose, im no expert. But that it a LOT of money for an ok dress.

@Honeybunch:  You could always keep looking for another preowned. One may turn up, and really its your money. But personally, I woudnt get it. I’d feel that it wasnt speical enough as to my mind, its broken……can you take some pictures measurements etc. to a seamstress and see if they can advise you on colour, fit and if the fraying can be fixed?

@Honeybunch:  I didn’t read pp comments, so idk if this has been mentioned but have you considered Jasmine’s Bridal Shop rrplica? I have just finished reading all the threads on them and they are awesome and it would cost you well under 2000.

@Honeybunch: I assumed that gemmas are raw finished, i.e. frayed? Can you go to Vera Wang and check on a new one?

@Honeybunch:  I definately wouldn’t pay that much for a preowned dress that isn’t perfect.  You could buy a brand new fully fitted dress for that, which could look similar but for a much smaller price tag

Don’t do it, listen to your mom, get a Maggie or Pronovias brand new for the price.

I actually like the undefined rosettes. I think the rosettes of the version Hilary Duff worn was more unstructured. but I’m no expert and never seen a real Gemma before.

£2500 is a lot of money so do shop around. There are plenty of choices for that budget. You deserve a perfect dress for your special days.
