You look really amazing in that dress!

How much is the sash? If it isn’t super-expensive, I say go for it and see if you like it.

If you don’t buy something you’re just going to keep looking and never settle, haha! That was what my mum said about my dress, but I think it applies here too. I was very concerned about making the wrong choice for my dress, so hesitated to buy to begin with!

@bretonvirgniia:  In which case, totally get it. The applique is lovely, and the ribbon has that gorgeous buttery colour which is amazing.

@bretonvirgniia: I purchased my sash from a seller on Esty. She actually custom-made something for me, and it was WAY less than the one you pictured and exactly what I wanted. Her shop is called Abigail Grace Bridal, and she’s AMAZING. Very fast too.

@bretonvirgniia:  I think it’s a really pretty sash, BUT…it looks more ivory than your dress?  Plus I feel like something slightly narrower would work better with your dress.  Can you buy/make a cheap mock-up with ribbon and a brooch to see if you like the effect?  I bought a (fairly cheap) navy sash on Etsy thinking I’d want to add a pop of color to my dress…turns out I don’t like the look, wah-wah.  So, I’m now in the sash-free camp, and I think you could be, too – your dress is gorgeous as-is!

@bretonvirgniia:  I like the sash!  I think you should go for it.

I can totally relate…I bought my dress within six weeks of shopping, and it took me more than NINE MONTHS of searching in local stores to find my belt (and online, but I just couldn’t muster the confidence to buy sight unseen).  I found it when I least expected and it was probably the biggest relief!

Oh wow that picture with it on says it all – it transforms the whole dress, reduces your waist by a lot.

Now…$400? You can definitely find an Etsy version for way less than that.

@bretonvirgniia:  Just saw your picture of the dress + sash.  The store looks familiar…I bought my belt there!

One more thought – is the beading on an applique?  If you don’t like the ribbon, you can take it off and have the applique sewn on your dress.
