    Hey girls..

We were contemplating on 2 different dates..

The first was on a saturday evening, sept. 10th, 2011 and the other was on a friday evening nov 11th, 2011. We choose the 2 options for their quirkiness.. 9-10-11 and 11-11-11. Eventually we decided on nov 11 since we live in arizona and the weather in september is still in the high 90s. But now that I'm thinking of the dates again, friday night weddings are harder on guest and don't want to inconvenience anyone and the november date also lands on veterans day! The ceremony times we would have to have are no later than 4:30pm for the (friday) november date (sun sets at 5:30pm and we want enough time for some day light photos) and the ceremony time for the (saturday) september date would be around 5:00 pm.

We are fine with either date and would like to get some opinions to what others think (as in if you were our guest).

Sept. is starting to look better.. but I just wouldn't want it too be too warm since it is an outdoor ceremony.

I really like the date of 9-10-11. But I really like numbers.

Oops I voted for Nov. thinking since the Sept one was a Sat., so was the Nov. one. I think November would be better if youre concerned about weather and I think it would be better on a Saturday. Does it have to be one of those 2 because of numbers?

I kinda like the Sept. date because even though itll be hot, isnt Arizona heat dry? PLus, you're not having it in the middle of the day, it would be late afternoon/evening. Just make sure you provide fans and drinks! Are there anymore options? Whatre you leaning towards?

I agree, we can provide little fans for our guests to pick up before they sit down. It is dry heat, so thats a plus! Early evening does help too!

I have definitely leaning more towards the Sept. date just because it falls on the traditional saturday wedding date", I was just hesitant about the weather.... seems like it should work out in Sept. The only problem (which I hope it wont be a problem) is that we already booked out Venue for the ceremony/reception. Do you think it might be a problem to change it? I hope there wont be a charge.

Hmm..this is a tough one.  I think it is a plus that the November date falls on Veteran's Day because that makes a Friday night wedding more like a Saturday night one (i.e. most people will have work off, so they can travel Thursday night).  My concern about September is that even if you start the ceremony at 5, it is still going to be hot!  Also, you will still be on the tail end of the monsoons.  You don't want to get sweated out or rained out. :)

Oh! And yes, we are wanting a "fun" date, so it would be between the two that I mentioned.

Unless its not available, I wouldnt think there would be a problem for you to change it. I mean, youre using the same venue, youre just switching dates. Why dont you call the venue and see if its even available and how you go about changing it, just so you know if that date is even an option before you spend time going trying to decide which one.

Thanks jordynrose! Since you are/were from Chandler, you know what I'm talking about :) Thats some great advice!! Monsoon season is a bummer of a time and I wouldn't want that to be an issue with weather!!!

    Thanks for the heads up!

Personally I think 9-10-11 would be best. As Friday weddings are harder to pull off and won't last as long as people will be tired, especially if your family and friend have labor jobs. I also think it would be best because of Veterans day. My dad is a veteran and we always go out to eat to celebrate Veterans Day. I highly doubt that my family is the only one who observes Veterans Day.

If the Friday is a Veteran's Day, doesn't that make it easier for guests to get there, since many of them will have the day off anyway?

That's what I was thinking!! Usually people do get a 3 day weekend during that time..and maybe flights will be cheaper in the middle of the week. Thats what I am hoping for!!

I have just been getting a few snarls and questions about the date from people that will be on the list. But oh well we will choose a date that will be best for us.

    This is easy - 09-10-11 - it's my 30th birthday that day!!

Aside from the fact September 10th is the greatest day, people prefer going to weddings on a Satruday, especially when they need to take time off of work to travel.

Why Hello Possible date twin! our wedding is 11-11-11!!!

you should def choose a date now though some places consider dates like that a holiday and the rates go up. we are booking out date now and it isnt considered a holiday rate but after July it will be thats when our venue gets 2011 rates.

also we are getting a cheaper rate since it is on a friday!

also i thought about the guest not being able to make it but then i figured since we have so long until the wedding i will send save the dates so people can request off early or make arrangements.  if they love you the guest will be there

I wouldn't worry about having a Friday wedding at all.  It's not a competition to have the most people in attendance at your wedding lol.  The people who matter most will be there...PERIOD!

I think both ideas are good.  Flip a quarter :P

9-10-11 Is too close for September 11th for my taste. I think 9/11 will always be a sad day, so I wouldn't want to get married very close to it.

@ilikepink I thought that as well! It is a very sad day and I know it means almost just as much as Veterans Day now.. so yah! Tough call but I think Nov 11th it is.
