I got engaged Valentines Day of last year bought my wedding gown 3 weeks later at a Sample sale at Pronovias in NYC. I only paid $1100 for this dress and loved the style and the way it looks. I never went did the official dress shopping and even though I was in love with a $6000 fit n flare Lazaro dress with feathers I just knew I couldn’t afford it. I ended up at a Bridal shop looking for a reception dress and my jaw dropped when I saw this gorgeous fit n flare Ysa Makino gown with feathers…almost mimicking the Lazaro style I originally wanted. Gown is $4850 but the store mgr is willing to sell me the sample, which is in excellent condition for $3000. This dress is a SHOW STOPPER. The beading and the ostrich feathers are so luxe.
I’ve thought about selling my other dress and buying this one. But I don’t want to be impulsive. I’ve gotten several opinions from friends that tell me it’s a waste of money for 1 day and to stick with my original gown.
Would love to hear some opinions on the 2 dresses. LADIES PLEASE HELP

@GrecianBelle: Stick with the dress you already own, its beautiful, looks great on you, and has a very similar look to the dress with the feathers.

Since they’re super similar, I’d say its not worth it. They are equally flattering on you.

They look identical to me, and I’m not really fond of either.

I agree with what was said above, both have a very similar style and personally I like the one you currently have better since the one with the ostrich feathers tend to stick out a bit too much for my liking (no gradient). However if you love the other one, get what will make you feel like the most beautiful bride in the world. With either one you look gorgeous.

That is a tough call. They have a really similar silhouette, but the newer dress you found has the beading and the ostrich feathers are so unique! I do like it better than the original dress. That is going to be $3,000 you won’t be able to spend on something else in your wedding, though. I am wondering if you can live with giving up the ostrich feathers, since you still have a cool bottom that flares out on the older dress, if you could maybe add a beaded belt to the original dress to give it some of that beaded flair?

As others have said, both look very similar so I don’t think it’s really worth paying the extra money for a new dress.

Thank you guys for all the comments. And the comments that my original dress looks the best is similar to what I’ve been hearing from most people. I’m still just so confused and torn. What I can say is that if I hadn’t gotten the original dress I would’ve been thoroughly pleased with the Beaded ostrich feather dress with no regrets. I don’t have an unlimited wedding budget so I have to consider cost.

The 1st dress is amazing! Not too fond of the 2nd.

@jrose418: I’m considering taking the current dress to try a bridal belt. And I don’t yet know if I can live without the beaded dress. Still thinking!

- Wedding: Either Philadelphia City Hall or a small chapel.
They’re not my style or taste, but, I say stick with the 2nd dress.

Love free first much more. If you can sell the original dress, then I’d get it.

I would suggest keeping the dress you already have. I like it better.
