Ever since me and my FI moved into our apartments we've had weird feelings about the management. Theres two ladies who run the office and one lady isnt as bad but the other is aweful! Shes rude, mean and doesnt care how she comes acrossed. Well when my FI got paid the bank put the rent through before his paycheck. So we went into overdraft before the check went though so our rent looked late but we had hundreds of dollers in the account. My FI then calls the front office to tell them that we are sorry for the check being sent back but we have the money in there for rent. The mean lady (lets call her Mary) says "thats fine, the checks usually are ran twice". Well for the past two weeks we've had money in the account for rent and we have been waiting for it to be taken out and it never has.

So today I come home to a note on our door saying that our rent is delinquent $675. (we only pay $525 a month) so they added on fees and are threatening leagal action. I was TICKED! So I called my FI and he calls the front office and Mary pretty much tells him tough Sh*t (sorry for language) and that its not in her control that the bank only ran the check once. Its not their problem. Well when we moved in we needed new vinal and one of our toilet seats are broken. And still to this day it hasnt been fixed. So my FI told Mary that we wont pay rent until we get some maintanence done on our appartment. I personally dont think he shoud of said that.

Do I have the right to complain??? And to who???? This isnt the first time this lady has been incredibly rude.

I don't think he should have done that.  I really don't think that withholding the rent because they haven't done maintenance isn't going to get you anywhere except possibly evicted.  I'm not sure who you can complain to unless you know who owns the building (or if they are part of a larger group of apartment complexes owned by a company).

Thats exactly what I told him. He works for another apartment complex and he does some maintenance and thats what his work told him he should do. I dont trust this lady and I dont want to get on her bad side but I'm really tired of her lying.

I can see your point on not wanting to push their buttons!  But you pay decent money to live there and if they are going to complain about the rent WHEN you already spoke with her about it!  I live in a townhouse with a crap-ola homeowners so I feel ya on the situation..Its hard to be nice when you spend your hard earned money and get nothing but rude people in return!
