FI and I registered at Target before “Black Friday Identity Theft Gate”. I love Target, but I hate what happened and I don’t want people to be fearful about shopping there on our behalf. Should we delete the registry and try somewhere else?

I think that horse is already out of the barn— the breach has already happened, and it’s not likely that Target will be breached again, at least not so soon. Plus, your guests can always buy items at Target physical stores in cash.

I just deleted my registry there, not for that reason (but add it to the list, I guess). I deleted mine there because I heard their registry experience and policies are bad. Like, items go in and out of stock frequently, change over items a lot, and not very wedding-friendly return policies. I was just going to let it sit, but realize it must be frustrating to look us up and find an empty registry. So delete it we did! We registered at BB&B instead and found that experience to be amazing. Plus they do free gift wrap and those 20% coupons their notorious for.

I wouldn’t but it depends on the people that you have invited. I think they are less likely to have the same problems again because they addressed it and owned up to it but some people might be against it.

@Skittles131: YES!!!! They do switch out and discontinue things constantly. I’ve had to replace numerous items with news ones. It’s terrible.

@lina010: I keep hearing that from people (including my sister who got married in 2012), but I have never had an issue buying gifts off of Target registries. Now I’m nervous!
I don’t think the credit card issue is anything to be concerned about – +1 to what Horseradish said.

@lina010: I don’t think it’s an issue anymore. Also not everyone uses credit cards – I pay for everything with cash, people could use debit if they’re worried anyway.
